  2. I spoke directly to an OPP Officer at a local detachment today. She tried to maintain the party line ("Travel is not recommended at this time") but I boxed her in and she conceded there is no specific law against travel in Ontario at this time. I recommend anyone who is unsure or prefers to do their own due diligence call their local detachment. It is a quick call and confirms what you want to know directly from the horses mouth.

  3. I got a powerdrive with no footpedal and regret it, so I bought a foot pedal for it, but it has no ipilot functions on it, so if I use the pedal, no ipilot. It sucks. Get the terrova. S.

  4. The pike was the first fish of the trip, 42”. The laker was 26lbs4ozs. The walleye in the other pic was one of hundreds just like it. The one afternoon we smashed them for 4 hours straight, I was actually surprised when my husky jerk made it back to the boat. I even started throwing some big pike lures and walleye were still hitting it. Lol

  8. I’m going to agree with splurge and get a terrova v2 one of minkottas more reliable motors. The v1’s not so much...the powerdrive v2’s also not so much.

  9. The plug is always the problem area. For me anyways. Anytime my bowmount didn't want to work, it was the plug. S.

  11. Or if you're like me and do both........... I have an older Minnkota that I added the Copilot to for the remote. Have both remote and pedal. Pretty sure the ones that come with remote also have the pedal in know the one on my buddies boat does. It's a Terrova.

  12. If you worked in Ironmaking anywhere in the world back in the day you owned 3 of everything. 3 cars, 1 for the family, 1 for the wife and 1 to drive in and out of the plant that was never washed why would you waste the time and park next to a Blast Furnace. 3 changes of clothes, 1 set for traveling to and fro for work, 1 set of work clothes and the clothes you wore inside the home. I had to change from traveling garb to home outfits in the garage. I didn't need to be told to do that, the traveling clothes stunk like rotten eggs and Coke Oven gas then the garge did. ( I forgot Men don't wear outfits. ) I am going to venture an educated guess that Dofasco was dumping hot metal AKA liquid Iron, molten Iron or pig Iron at temps between 2500 F and 2700 F. (2500 F is cosidered cold). This hot metal is dumped into Iron pits, sometimes the proceedure is refered to as banking Iron. This usually happens at Xmas, that way the Steelmaking facility can be shut down and the Blast Furnaces can run at very low wind rates, also known as "faning" a furnace. It could however be an operational error that hot metal was diverted into a slag pit that was cold and had moisture in it. More than a few operational errors have to happen to make a Boom, Boom. Dofasco had a similar "eruption" around Xmas a few years back. N.B. an eruption must be far less hazardous as an explosion. We used the same rediculous terminology, believe me if you were withing a kilometer you knew it was an explosion. Stelco Hilton Works stopped this proceedure in the early 90's. It was considered hazardous as well as environmentaly irresponsible. We paid for more than a few power washes to homes and cars in the neighbourhoods depending on the wind direction and new sets of bedding that hung on the line, even when the wind was blowing in the other direction. It could be done however with all the provincial ministries involved permission if and only if an iminent danger to a worker or workers is probable. But Dofasco still does it 25 years latter. That's enough Blast Furnace 101 for 2021. Happy New Year folks. Boom Boom!!!!

  14. Come on weather please; my fish hut has been sitting in the parking lot of my shop and it just may stay there again the year. Miss the weekends staying out on the ice; sleeping in the hut. May try putting pontoons on it and using it as a boathouse, LOL Oh crap it'll need to lose a lot of weight to do that; she's a bit on the heavy side. Dan.

  15. I like this comment. Environmental concerns? Why not, because "it dissipated quickly" He's an ass, no he's an ostrich; stick your head in the sand; what I can't see won't hurt me? Eventually whatever chemicals that went up into the shy and "dissipated" will come back down into our streams, rivers and lakes. Then we wonder why such and such lake has gone all but dead? This factory needs to be held responsible/liable to any effect this may have on the environment, years down the road from now. Ok I'm on a rant day. There's another thing that really pisses me off. The TV and movie industry. For our entertainment they set fires, produce explosions emitting all kinds of chemicals into the atmosphere. Guess what, most of these movies are produced in California. The US State that has the most stringent emissions laws in North America? It's all about the buck that can be made; we all care about the environment until there's money to be made. Stepping of soap box. Dan.

  17. There was nothing shady about the places I have worked. None of the places I worked ever took shortcuts in the regulatory process or performed phase 3 clinical trials in a few months just to try and be first to market with anything.

  18. You should lock it anyhow. If someone can't post a valid fact and experience based concern about the lack of proper clinical trials and testing of something being injected into people without being labeled as all the things akrisoner has done to me, there is no point in allowing discussion about it. I'm glad we have people like him who are experts in all this stuff thanks to reading some stuff on the interwebs.

  19. Ya... you just echo the opinion that is given to you through the MSM and blend in with the crowd like the good sheep you are. You don't like being called a sheep but you have grouped me into several groups. Can't take what you give? I live in no fear of anything or anybody. I have simply questioned the safety and effectiveness of this new "vaccine" which has been pushed to market in 1/10th the time of any other medication out there. I suppose you have experience in the industry and know everything about the regulatory approval and clinical trials. The flu shot... 40-60% of the time? So lets run the strawman argument here like you have. Can anyone prove the people who got the flu shot would have actually gotten the flu without the shot? Here's a real serious question for you: How many people who get the MMR vaccine actually get any of the three? That is what a vaccine does, not 40-60%. Again, I am only questioning a single thing so all of these other groups you have put me in and all of these other things you say I am afraid of and all these other words you have put in my mouth are BULL.
