  3. Paul, I was asking an RV Dealer up here what they were going to do now that the trailer shows were all cancelled? He said "This pandemic has shown us that we don't need trailer and RV shows to sell product!". I can actually see that with a lot of the shows we used to go to.

  4. I think I got a good deal on it, the seller accepted my $500 offer. Outcast FC Panther Pontoon I’m in the market for a trolling motor, battery, pfd and rod holders

  5. Wow, that’s so lucky! Last year I saw a guy bottom fishing for salmon at the pier. He just made a cast and just placed his rod down while taking a seat on his chair. Next thing you know his rod gets pulled in the water. A min or two passes and you hear a few guys down calling fish on! The guy ends up hooking onto the dudes rod. He unhooks the rod and the original guy came in and fought his fish and lands it. Very lucky.

  6. As a newbie to down rigging this year, I’ve already learned to hate manual Downriggers. I’m going electric as soon as I can afford it

  8. I think it's still only a 9.4% chance of one of them dying. Either way...not a stat you want to be included within....

  11. Well I got to use the scale today. 2" piece of lead was 8 grams. So now I can do the math easy, to accommodate my float and bait. Funny how fast that roll got cut up. Need more, as I gave my son more then half it seems. 😁

  13. I was finally able to bear down and get the full trip report done It's a big one but I always find it enjoyable to pull it together as it extends the memories of the trip Our trip was a good one, maybe our best Full of surprises good (We saw a bear) and bad (Our flight from Toronto to Thunder Bay was a gong show), plenty of fish, beautiful scenery and best of all great company It's been and continues to be a long strange year with Covid so a week in paradise to fish was a welcome respite https://www.northernjacks.com/post/stick-a-pin-in-it-lake-st-joseph-trip-report Cheers Andrew

  14. These are key words here. I could run my 10 feet inflatable entire day on a single battery. Of course under certain conditions, calm water, not too heavy, etc

  15. The 55lb would last from 1st morning ( 5 am ) til noon . That how long I would usually fish for. I would move a lot. I always used 50% throttle . I even towed my anchor when moving. That is about 8 lbs. From spot to spot. When I would come off, there was always 3 and even 4 lights still on the motor which was to tell you how much battery power was left. My battery is a sealed Optima marine battery. It is always kept on a 1.5 amp trickle charger from May til I will not use it anymore.

  16. Congrats on the new rig - looks sweet Hopefully many fish big and small come over the gunnels (not sure if a pontoon has gunnels but you get the gist) Have you name him or her yet? In my mind every good vessel requires a worthy name Cheers Andrew

  17. Few things I have noticed this summer: Crazy amount of campers, boaters and RV's on the highway (considering no US travellers, limited out of province travellers) going to the cottage and even on our drive from Thunder Bay to Sioux Lookout Bass Pro and Sail were picked clean when it came to fishing and camping gear Doing a few small kayak trips locally I have noticed more people out than previous summers even though many parks are offering reservations Spending time on the water at the cottage I saw more fisherman out than I have in the past 3 summers combined On the flip side I have noticed many for lease or going out of business signs in smaller, local main streets which is very sad. Chatting with a few different outfitters I know that many are in tight this year and may not be able to survive another summer without American guests Strange times indeed. Hope everyone can stay safe and where possible buy local Cheers Andrew
