  3. Was in Costa Rica recently on a last minute trip. Had some fun fishing with guys I met down there. I even caught a jack off the beach and lost some others. We did the best fishing in 400 feet of water, lol. We let the guys that took us out bring the fish to market to make some extra cash for themselves.

  4. Like to start off with, Sorry to my Ohio pals that came up and had a hard fish this weekend. Long drive to deal with ice conditions and fish not co-operating. It was nice to meet you Raulf. Safe drive back home Paul, they were very polite fellas. . I moved 3 times to get away from the shiner clouds this morning. I am talking 100 ft at a time. Could never seem to get away from them. Marked fish on the bottom, but it was like pulling teeth to get them to bite. The interesting thing was, when a whitie would be coming in the area, the bottom 10 ft would clear of shiners, but when the fish came in, it would never rise up to chase. . It was amazing how they came in and not hit, or if they did, it was quick like they nudged it . Swing and misses seem to be the theme . Hard to get a grip on the hit. Finally after about 4 swings, I got a hook up. One maybe a lonely number, but I was happy with that one. Meegs, dont leave home without it. ;D Been awhile since I had a fries and whitie dinner. Oh it was so good. Lets hope next weeks temps tighten things up out there. Lots of soft and slush places out there. Then looking after this week, it,s back to non normal temps again. Step and chip.

  5. We were late one year doing test runs. We like going out in 2 boats in case one needs a tow. The problem it was a Sunday on the Grand south of Dunnville. I do not use the boat on weekends, too many ramp follies. So I'm lined up 5 boats ahead of me. 2 guys in a 14' tinny pass me and all the other boats and cuts in. Everyone's yelling at them, they don't bat an eye. The one guy gets out and goes and gets his mini van. He can not back the van in straight, more than a 1/2 dozen tries. My buddy is already out and has my truck and trailer standing by so I can drive onto the trailer. The guy is hammering the trailer into the dock, time after time. Ted offers to back the truck up for him, no speak English. This time he scrapes the side of the van against the dock, not a nice sound for the owner. Now everybody he cut is applauding everytime he scrapes his trailer and van against the dock, with great glee they cheered. Finally the trailer is in the water straight but not far enough in, everyones telling him to back up more, no speak English. The 2 guys get into the water waist deep and struggle to get the boat on the trailer. There isn't enough water under the trailer so they are trying to lift it on. After great effort the trailer is under the boat. They pull up the ramp a bit and stop. Now they are going to do everything they can do hundreds of feet away but no they are going to unload the boat and put everything in the van 1st. There's 6 boats behind me know. That enough of this non sense and now there is an angry mob. The guy that was next in line jumps onto the dock and screams something at these idiots, jumps into the van and pulls it away from the ramp at the cheers of the angry mob. How these 2 duffuses didn't et punched in the face I have no idea. I do not like boating on weekends.

  7. This is my kinda thread, i could literally sit and look at boats all day. Keep em coming guys! This thread is really giving me the feels. This year on the ice has really had an impact on my psyche. Fishing really is my therapy, it dominates most of my thought patterns, i work during the week thinking about what kinda adventure on what lake will I get up to each weekend and this winter has not allowed that at all. I've managed to somewhat scrape some time together, but its never been good, I was only able to access one of my more preferred fishing spots for the first time this past weekend only to have the weather completely throw a stick in my spokes. I sit and think...man what I would give to be able to go out to my honey hole in my boat...Only 3 more months.... I realize i havent snapped a photo in a while need to get some new ones this year! Especially after I put new seats and a centre storage/step in! 98 Skeeter 140SS with a 130 Yamaha 2 stroke I recently have really been longing for one of those sunny quiet weekdays out on the lake. She can be a little temperamental in her old age lol. The Musky Rig and old faithful "Tinner Magic" 14 Foot Starcraft with a 1988 Suzuki 15

  8. They have no ice where they are Paul. We have just enough to scratch the itch. They were not a fan of the water and slush. They would prefer to bring their driving toys. They managed to get their whities on Monday.

  9. Had a couple hours to kill before picking Jack up from school, took off from the house on the sled , awesome groomed trails on the lake and through the bush, but my destination lake was a slush pit, managed to get enough for supper, worth the trip! https://youtu.be/mE6Xd9vX8U8

  12. The beauty of fishing is that no matter the type of boat, we all share the same passion. Plus... it doesn’t matter how you get out, as long as you get there. this is my current rig. 2016 Ranger Z119c with 225HO G2. my last rig. 2006 Bass Tracker 190TX with a 75 merc fourstroke.

  15. I'm sure i could come up with a few stories about some of my own best moves at the boat launch, but when we had our trailer on Dalrymple for 26 years, the highlight of my summer vacation was to head into Orillia one evening for a feast at King's Buffet then grab an ice cream cone and head over to the public launch ramp in Orillia to watch the launch ramp antics while the kids played at the park! Classic entertainment!

  16. My cottage is adjacent to a public launch. I could write a book about all the funny stuff I've seen.
