I spent last Thursday and Friday on Bisco. Unfortunately hit a rock and had to end my trip. Was afraid that gear case is leaking. Fishing was amazing. A lot of small walleyes were caught. Friday morning found a bunch of jumbo perch with walleyes. Didnt catch anything big - biggest walleye about 18 inches, half of dozen pikes in 3 lbs range. Very healthy fishery - cant wait to go back. Just need to get new skeg welded and prop replaced.

Good to hear the fish were cooperative... where did you hit a rock? We ALMOST tapped one south of Millionaires Island. Came out of nowhere .... 70 ft to oh no! Turns out in the panicked moment I twisted the tiller handle to revers, stalled the motor and popped it up at the same time, and saw the rock under the motor.... sure simulated strike, but upon inspections ..... never hit it. Cosmos Posted June 13 Report Posted June 13 We were camping close to Pansy Island area on another small island. I had autochart map built for that area over few trips but still managed to hit the damn rock.

I was casting Nipissing and wanted to move a couple hundred feet and my chart showed 8' of open water all the way. Put the boat in gear and went 50' and ended up sitting on top of a rock just under the surface yet my chart still showed I was in 8 FOW. Charts are good but not always perfect. 2

A 30.5" and a 27.5" respectively. Also picked up a 20.5" spawned out Largemouth. All in all another great week. Minus the blackflies. Cheers, BM I didnot even know walleyes could be this big 0.0
Essox Posted July 9 Report Posted July 9 went to Beteau for a week. The water was down by ~ 1 meter. This made the fishing a bit difficult since there was lot of very shallow water. Beautiful country caught a few big pike and lots of walleye fish fry's. 4
BillM Posted July 10 Report Posted July 10 Beteau is a fun time. I was up there years and years ago. We put a lot of fish over 40in in the boat that year. Fished walleyes when we got bored of pike. 1

Fishing Nipigon last year.Same thing the fishfinder said ~ 9'. Bang hit a rock at full throttle. Never showed up on the Humminbird screen. It must have been a ledge coming up out of no-where.I learned to always bring a extra prop and cotter pin. Saved the day and the trip. It also took off 1/2 the skeg. Surprisingly the missing skeg didn't effect the motors operation. That heavens it didn't ruin the drive.

The fact is has no hydro charts makes it very interesting lol!
Jacques Posted August 18 Report Posted August 18 I spent a little time fishing Georgian Bay this year. Got up to Shooting Star Camp on the Spanish River. Rustic place and a bit of a hike to get to but beautiful, buggy and fishy. Lots of smallmouth and pike, topping out at 36 and 38" Not Ontario, but my Dad and I enjoyed our third fly in together to Northern Manitoba. Lodge owner wants to keep this lake quiet for now so I can't say where. But it was a float plane ride away from the lodge. I probably won't see another day of fishing like it. 10 trophy pike in the boat (over 41") including a double header for me and my Dad. I topped out at 47" and 48.75" All caught on a Len Thompson #4. Keep it Canadian, eh? Truly amazing. I asked this board for tips on a flyout many years ago. I don't post much any more but read all your reports and am grateful for the entertainment when I'm too busy to get out there. Now that work has settled down I hope to get back into the swing of things. 5
