  1. We had Windows 7, opened the computer one morning and it upgraded itself some how to windows 10. No idea how that happened, but it seems to be working well.
  2. I am entertaining the idea of tubing with my kids and some other family from the boat launch in Minden, and going down to Gull Lake and pulling out at the river mouth there. I have seen groups doing this, and it looks like a fun way to spend an afternoon. Has anyone here done this? If so, how long does the trip take, and what should I need to know. Thanks, Entropy
  3. There is a guy down the road that has a small boat and trailer for sale. He does not have the registration for either, but will provide a bill of sale for each. The boat has a VIN and reg. plate on it, and the trailer has a serial number and stickers on it. I understand that I could register the trailer as homemade, but it is in good shape and has the stickers on it, so I'd rather not grind and paint it, and ... that's not the most honest thing to do. I have a 15 hp that I would put on it, and as such need to register the vessel to me and get numbers to put on it. I'd like everything to "check out" when stopped by the police on the road or water. So, if I trust it is not stolen and I don't believe that it is, .... How do I register both to make them ready for the spring. TIA Entropy
  4. Did not see any jeep or boat this morn but will keep an eye out. Good luck. The pic helps
  5. I saw a boat that fits the description just 2 or 3 days ago. On top of a jeep coming into Ceasarea ... going through the town in the morn..... do you have a H.I.N. if i see it i will ask about it and check the number for you.
  6. Was at a community bon fire this eve, got a lead, will check it out first, if not I will take you up on that sinker.
  7. 150'ish of floor space. located near Port Perry.
  8. 150sqr ft 7 ft walls, 9 x 16ish room
  9. Got some drywall on the walls and just curious how much, and how, the pros charge for a good mud job. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks, Entropy
  10. Not good. Just think of what will happen in tight locations. The amount of body work that will need to be done after will sky rocket! Guys will have their head down on the screen and knob, and not watch the corners of their truck. Hope it comes with a backup beeper! ... so I can get the heck out of the way. Entropy
  11. Naylor or RJ Machine are two local companies, perhaps they have used ones?
  12. not sure where it was, it just came across my 'feed'. I almost assume I will be in this situation one day. With all the city folk moving out to the country, I feel it is almost certain to happen around my neck of the woods.
  13. Princess auto has a $3.99 cent tube for this problem, if you have put a tube on one before it takes 10 min tops. OR. if you are like me the first time I did it, I did way more work than needed, and had to 'learn' how to do it by trial-and-error, that time took me almost 1.5 hrs.
  14. I saw this, thought about what I would do. What would you do? Entropy
  15. Lucky for the owner they couldn't find the owner. They might have had a bill to pay.
  16. Turns out they are 40% on sale right now and have a 3 year warranty. http://www.tscstores.com/68-X-21CM-155LBS-SNOW-SHOES-P22044.aspx Just used them again last eve. Entropy
  17. I bought a 36" pair at tsc for $60 or $80 on sale before xmas. They are great. Light, durable and very easy to use. Wish i had got them years ago. You cant buy anything close on kijiji for the price i paid and get the same performance.
  18. Hmmm, just used the phone, this line is better, but there is still some static. What are the odds Bell will put new lines down our road? Was talking to a buddy of mine [in Muskoka on a back road], turns out he had the same problem with static and dial tone, techs kept coming out switching the line they were on, but still static, then for years they and others on their road were asking for new lines. He gave up and now they are just running 2 cell phones. He figures Bell is letting the lines go and don't care if their customers go to cell phones. I guess at some point if you don't have enough customers on a line it's not worth the investment/repairs. Heck they still have you (often) when you go to cells only. I think I'd go with Cable Cable before going to cell only. Good Times, eh. Entropy
  19. I want to keep our land line for emergencies, so me or my young kids can dial 911 and not have to speak our location, also for our security system, and it works our cheaper for us to have unlimited long distance on our land line than it does on both cell phones. Bell came out again today and switched the lines we are on. Here's hoping this one works.
  20. Again we are having problems with no dial tone and static on our Bell land line. Bell tries to fix it but I honestly feel the lines down our road are old and in need of replacement. I'm sure I've seen them before when the road was graded last. Anyways the techs keep switching the line we are on that comes down the road, but we are on our ... 3rd or 4th line and still have bad static. The techs say it is not a problem on the house side, and try to fix. Regardless. I am a Cable Cable customer for their 'through the air' 'tower to tower' internet, an am wondering if anyone here has their internet telephone service that also runs 'tower to tower'. Are you happy with the quality? clarity? reliability? and cost? Thanks in advance. Entropy
