CrowMan Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 If as an angler, you want to make a conscious decision to support Canadian manufacturers, there is on-line retailer that offers only MADE IN CANADA products.. https://greatcanadianfishingstore.com/ Of course, there is also a lot of gear that comes from China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Europe if want to avoid US goods. The same for big box stores....Sail and Canadian Tire vs Bass Pro and Cabela's. Personally, for a number of reasons, I've always patronized the smaller local retailers...although I do miss LeBaron's. 5 1
Spiel Posted February 2 Report Posted February 2 I do prefer to hit small local brick and mortar shops for all of my needs when possible CM. I only resort to online when there's no other option and given my numerous daily walks with the pup, the driving skills of these to your door drivers leaves a lot to be desired and I do mean "a lot!" It's hard to be a good driver when you're constantly illegally staring at your hand held device. 3

Also learned that there is a difference between "Made in Canada" and "Product of Canada". 1

12 Volt Man Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 I will still buy G. Loomis rods. Been using them for 30 years and I won't stop lol 1

BillM Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 i don't need any new muskie gear this year (Unless St.Croix comes out with a 10ft Legend Tournament lol) 1
wkrp Posted February 10 Report Posted February 10 It is just my personal choice gentlemen. I too own both brands and agree that they are quality rods. wi

The Triumph and E6X line-ups come to mind. Although you would think that the "halo" from a brand's top end products should extend down the line...sometimes it's a complete miss. Don't know if anyone remembers the Cadillac Cimarron from the 80's...it was a Chevy Cavalier with a few extra shiny chrome bits...but still the same bucket of rusty bolts..
wkrp Posted February 11 Report Posted February 11 I hear you CrowMan and I have always steered clear of their lesser models. 1
