i got a 24 inch 7.5lb smallie on a 8 inch minnow while fishing for musky... and i get big largmouth a couple times a year... like 5 lbers

I caught a monster smallie on a TopRaider on the French a few years ago!

I don't fish for bass at all but every year I land a couple bigguns on musky baits, and the bigger the baits, the bigger the bass.

exactly why I throw 10" worms and huge flippin jigs for bass they are lazy fish and want 1 huge meal over a bunch of little ones sometimes and some days they want a fly LOL stupid fish

Not as many but often bigger with the big baits. That is a big fat smallie for this time of year. Was the pic taken a few weeks ago? Maybe she had not spawned yet?? odd. Nice fish though.
