  1. TRUE!!! but not if its on purpose
  2. Great thread so far, If I can add anything, 1. Know a spot well before you fish there at night, 2. experience can do things knowledge can't. Time on the water is the best way to improve your fishing skills.
  3. Yup, no Ice fishing (but unfortunately that doesn't stop everyone). And moutsberg opens the third saturday in May for pike, all this is on a sign by the launch
  4. I caught this fish on a canoe trip this summer, wondering what you guys think its weight is, im 6'3" for reference.
  5. Probably been posted here before, but it makes me wonder how many fish ive missed and never known it! Also a great insight on how bass strike/pickup a lure, ENJOY! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VSctYPVT8ks
  6. Hey fellow OFNers Each year to expand my fishing life and try something new! This year I would like to try fly fishing! I am probably going on a trip to newfoundland which will present many opportunities along the way. So as a complete beginner to fly fishing what do I need to know A few things: I'm a interested in picking up a used decent fly rod/ kit and am willing to pay well for it, something good for a beginner. Second I would like a good area to start fishing I live near Hamilton but am more then happy to drive an hour or so, somewhere I could pick up a few trout of sometype, Last, for what I can think of if anyone is willing to teach me I would greatly appreciate it! I know spring is a long ways away spring will be here before we know it! Thanks so much for any advice you can give me! -Lukas!
  7. Love the shoe choice! My friends say its dumb but its sooo much more cofortrable then wet shoes
  8. Day off? Might as well go fishing :)

  9. but then St. Louis would have gotten a break-away,
  10. I have to say this is a great ad (and it helps I'm not a poodle lover)
  11. Don't go to Puslinch without a boat. The whole shore is private cottages except for a water skiing lessons shop. NO shore access except for the small lake called little lake connected north but that's really just a glorified pond
  12. gotta love how not amused the wife is tho
  13. I agree completely I've had the same problems and the packaging is full of fish attractant. I bought a few at a great sale price (2$ a pack) frogs, lizards and some jig trailer thing. The lizards were too soft and wouldn't stay on the hook. I love the frog's action, bot only managed one pike off it and the decent pike tossed it in the fight. I caught bass off the jig thing but the appendages dried up after one use and you only get four.
  14. Definitely my choice too. Probably Baccarac in Mexico. Maybe Nunavut for char, lakers and greyling
  15. Yup that's the stoney the tourney is next weekend too
  16. Hi OFC, This weekend is my big father son fishing trip (and now younger brother). We annually head to Clear lake this is probably the 5th year. We generally have lots of success for Bass but have only managed to land one walleye (still in the learning stage). If anyone has any tips for spots, bait or anything else it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Lukas,
  17. I'll often also start a day casting non confidence baits so I dont end up not catching anything on a confidence bait. Just wondering ive bought a few Japanese cranks and I'm not sure if they give me more confidence in casting a better quality bait of mrake me more afraid to cast it into fish holding structure. How about anyone else?
  18. I definately Agree. I've lent friends non confindence lures and had them catch fish off them too.
