it's an Italian cartoon penned by Osvaldo Cavandoli. It was aired all over the world - in Canada on TVO and CBC, in the states on a show called Great Space Coaster.

Yes, all old farts remember Commander Tom...I also remember watching I think was Commander Tom with Santa Claus....They kept reading off Santa Letters from all us good boys and girls...

Another that just came to mind was a short snippet I think the CBC used to air maybe from Quebec...

It was about a logcutter riding down the 'larry on his logs andf was accomanied by a catchy lil song..."...and he went down and down and down blue waters, that where the log-jamming man learns to step lightly..."..lol

Every once in a while we used to get the signal for Capt. Kangaroo and Mr Greenjeans.

That cartoon (one randy posted) was one of my favs as well...I used to try and draw them in flipbooks as a kid.
