Billy Bob Posted September 14, 2010 Report Posted September 14, 2010 He looks like the ideal fishing partner anyone could ask for.
Beans Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Sorry about your loss Marvin... Like you, my dad and I never got to fish together much as he was too busy hustling a buck (taxi driver, waiter/bartender, racetracker etc.) but his father taught me what every boy needs to know about fishing...I feel him (grampa) with me at times when I am alone in "The Tin of Beans" along with my dear departed daughter who just loved to fish with her old man...(sigh...)
Spiel Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 Your a fortunate man to have had a Grandfather who helped develop your passion for fishing and the outdoors and stuck around for 90 years as your mentor. May he rest in peace. My condolences to you and your family.
fishnsled Posted September 15, 2010 Report Posted September 15, 2010 My condolences to you and your family. Well said Spiel.
mbac31 Posted September 17, 2010 Author Report Posted September 17, 2010 Thanking everyone for all the kind words. Didnt want to post it but figured it was fitting to place a tribute to him since I could not make the funeral. He will be with me on October 2-3 on St Francis for sure. Its even my birthday that day. Cant get luckier than that
