Woodsman Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Anyone else without power? Woke up about 3:30 and all was dark and starting to get cool. No power = furnace no work. Only heat I got is a one burner propane stove. Also with no power the water pump is out. Rick
SlowPoke Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 No interuptions here in south London. It's likely ice pulling lines down in your area. -Brian
lew Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Still plenty of power here in East York, but there's a heavy coating of ice on everything and strong winds, so it may only be a matter of time before the branches come down and take the hydro lines with them. Just to add to the fun, it's raining pretty hard now too.
motv8tr Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Power's good up here, but if it goes I'm ok, happens usually twice a year around these parts. I use a wood stove, so I still have heat, and can cook, lot's of battery operated lights. There are apparently several areas in T.O. that are out due to downed lined. Be careful everyone. Maureen
Big Cliff Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 We're OK up here in Lindsay, light rain, -3 C right now but the wind seems to have died down.
DT10Sam Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Okay in the Quinte area the trees have some ice onthem making them look kind of nice this time of year. Hopefully there are not many trees down because of the ice. Regards, Sam

Also over 3,000 other customers effected by other outages in they surrounding areas. hawkeye Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 Keswick went out at 3:30AM, nice bright flashes in the east, was still out at 6:30 when I headed into the salt mines. Seemed that Thornhill and Richmond Hill had gotten hit sometime in the night as my wireless network to Mississauga was loosing packets almost as fast as they could be sent. By 9AM the network was purring, hopefully Keswick too

Frankypro Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 We're always in the dark in Sheffield. No power outages though - tomorrow calls for more gusty winds and then Tues down in the deep freeeeeeeze again.
Woodsman Posted March 3, 2007 Author Report Posted March 3, 2007 Well my power finally came back on at 7:30 pm last night. 19 hrs. without power. Oh well it could be worse. Some people's power in this area is still out. Now almost 42 hrs. and counting. Best Wishes: Rick
crusty Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 How is it woodsman has no power, yet he can post msgs? "Ok I got one outlet on the generator what should I plug in.... Fridge...no,furnace...no,sump pump....no COMPUTER!!" I take it you have battery back-up?
Woodsman Posted March 4, 2007 Author Report Posted March 4, 2007 Lap top and phone line! Exactly. Dial up here and I did not lose the the phone service. Laptop recharged by power inverter, powered by my boat battery which was in the basement fully charged. Inverter only puts out 2.6 amps max continuously. Too small to power anything big. Most people in the area now have there power back. Further west closer to Lake Huron there is still some without power. Best Wishes: Rick
