Just treat it like an anniversary..... ;);) Keep their expectations low, it works for me. (BTW, that dull thud you heard was my wife coming up behind me as I was writing this):blush:

I feel the same way. I also get a similar feeling passing a certain store that I need to get some stuff in for my mom and sister on the way to and from the pub. Havn't made it yet lol.

Get 'er done. We finished most of our Christmas shopping in October/November. Everything is wrapped and just sitting there waiting for the kids and grand kids to tear into it. No need to head into the city and face the insanity of the Christmas mob.

Xmas creeps up every year like a herd of elephants on roller blades.

It's a trampling you can't escape and always leave ti'll last minute to turn and face it. Always when it's at it's worst because you're tired from running from it for so long.

I used to love Christmas but the commercialism of it just turns me off, its gone from a festive season, celebrating Jesus's birth and a time in the year for families to get together and share in the joy...now it seems to be all about Santa his presents and what did I get........

We made a decision to not allow the commercialism of it to dominate our home, birthdays are special days and the time when our Children are rewarded and showered with that ever thier heart desires.

I got so worried about it that at 5AM this morning went to the local Wally and got er done.

Well a little bit of it anyway. It sure is the time of day to go at this point in time, nice and quiet.

I feel like I have a gun held to my head! :wallbash:

I think Howitzer might be a better description...least in my case

Shopping is a woman's sport. :stretcher:

I agree to a point......but when it comes to going into BPS I win every time, though even in BPS she gives me a good run for my money :D

I agree with it being too commercial too.....Christmas certainly is not what it used to be. I think its a little different away from the GTA but here it seems that people have lost sight of what its all about (whatever your beliefs are).
