  1. They just reported that those fit bit things keep sending all your information too. They can tell what store you are in in the mall and send you sale emails on your phone as you walk in....now thats special You don't even need a flashlight
  2. Cool idea but nobody will see it up there...plus the beer will likely be slushy up there
  3. 14C is fine ice making weather...it gets cold at night Its snowing here and our trails are in great shape...I'm just going to put some miles on this weekend...no ice crossings
  4. You just need to go shopping. All the sleds are pretty decent nowdays. The 600 ACE is said to be the most fuel efficient engine made. A buddys daughter got one in a Tundra and the dealer said she would be lucky to put a full tank of gas through it all winter. My Vector gets 20 mpg running 70 mph all day long Another guy I work with got the Polaris 550 for fishing and so far he likes it but hasn't been out much. You can adjust the skis narrow or wide depending on what you want to do with it. The 900 ACE in a Renegade will give you a fishing and trail sled Price point means a lot too I may have a 2012 Vector for sale next year
  5. Almost sure that the ice is fine means I'm not going on it.
  6. You are giving your information away every time you use a rewards card. They know where you are, what you bought and they keep track of it. They are getting huge amounts of information for very little money. Just because you're not paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not watching you
  7. I don't need double digit minuses for family day weekend...we have a 400 miles sledding trip planned for then and the last 2 years it was 30 below...I would like something around 5 to 9 below this year
  8. Need a pretty good step ladder to start that hole
  9. Thats a heck on an extension you would need on the auger
  10. I can just picture the first caveman getting a fire going and his buddy saying...oh boy...this is gonna get you in trouble one of these days
  11. We pulled a sled out of a lake on Sunday but snow conditions let us get 1300 km's on the sleds for the week. A few guys have been fishing smaller lakes but I think I will just ride trails
  12. And after he gets out, another heads out with an ATV and hut...death wish
  13. Cool I dropped a $175.00 St croix and reel in 15' of water in the summer Went back 2 weeks later and had my trail on the GPS. I hooks a bottom bouncer and 3 sets of J plug hooks on another rod and dragged the bottom. It was all sand so pretty easy. First pass I feel weight..yessss...bring it up and there is my outfit..gotta love GPS tracks
  14. I am going to consider this an attempt to keep the kids safe. Having a trigger lock simply acts as a small deterent to stop a child from picking up a gun and having an accident. I don't believe there are a lot of gun safes in homes up there It may not be the best solution but for the price of a few trigger locks it just may save a life
  15. There is a group home down in that area for mentally challenged adults. Sure hope it wasn't one of them that went wandering.
  16. For fishing 88, and I have, I don't think you can do better that the St Croix Triumph. You might want to go up to a med instead of the med light, especially if you want to target Pike. Pulled in a 28" eye on my med light this summer no problem...well, maybe a bit of a problem but it did it.
  17. .................................
  18. Looks like a bunch of fun...thanks for posting
  19. When they go upside down, its real hard to stay on the seat
  20. If you're mostly drinking, don't waste money on rods and reels...get a stick
  21. All I ever ice fish with is a stick. Cut a piece of 1x3 spruce about 10" long, saw a big v in each end and wrap 17lb trilene around that. measure how much one wrap is so you can count and know how much line you put on and when you let it out you can figure the depth by counting. You can adjust the length to make it exactly 2' if you want Get a nice willow branch, stick it standing up in the slush from drilling the hole, put the line down, wrap it on the willow branch and put a bell on the end...poof, you're ice fishing...can't beat hand lining a 5lb laker or whitie out of 80fow. If you're in a hut, unbend a wire coat hanger and stick it somewhere and it replaces the willow gad. For smaller fish, use a lighter leader line..I like heavy main line because when the hole freezes you give it a boot and don't need to worry about hurting the line. Don't use braid for a hand line
  22. I wonder if it suprised him when it broke or he said...yup, knew this was going to happen
  23. Sault ste marie to Toronto to Calgary to Yellowknife and return Air Canada is $850.00 The Sault to Toronto leg adds a bunch to the total
  24. We have ice here but you still have to watch where you go. I'm just going to put a couple hundred KM on the sled...Michigan trails are good now
