  1. Looks like a Meggasin laker there Dangler..the guys did good there this weekend. I did a 143 miles snowmobile ride Saturday...started out as -28C...trails were perfect
  2. Nice idea but at 8'2 wide it would never fit between the trees
  3. LSPP has 3 campsites. All are quite nice. http://www.lakesuperiorpark.ca/index.php/camping/campgrounds Rabbet Blanket is a pretty little spot and the kids can likely catch some splake in the lake. Nice spot to teach them a bit about canoeing There are lots of viewing stations for Lake Superior after you pass the Sault so don't be in a rush to get there Back in the day when the kids were babies and we weren't so regulated before the actual season started the gates to Crescent lake would be open. We used to pack up the tent trailer and go up there and camp for free and have the whole park to ourselves
  4. Winter is just fine up here. I'm taking an extra day off and hitting the trails for 4 days this weekend and then next weekend we are doing an overnight ride to Elliott lake. I know its not fishing but it is winter fun anyway
  5. Wow...something tells me its already too late
  6. I take it you don't ride bar to bar up there eh
  7. Yup, great. Oh well, nobody booked a room anyway so it may be cancelled...just day trips instead. Did another hundred miles this weekend so I have just about 1,000 so far this year
  8. I don't believe there is a residents requirement on that...just gotta be under 18 and you can fish. And they don't have to be with a licensed adult. Is far as 3 weeks, you gotta be able to fish, not just gurgle
  9. Now thats what I call ice fishing...thanks for the pics
  10. A few years back we took a trip to NFLD. My wife went to Sears travel and told them what she wanted. They custom made a trip for her, flights, pick up car at airport, all hotels booked for the week, offered tours in certain locations, she picked and booked what she wanted. The whole trip went off without a hitch...one of our greatest trips
  11. Moved up here from downtown Toronto when I was 15 because my dad got a job on a long construction project. I can't think of any place I would rather live.
  12. On the glass part, I really like that because you can set a glass down and not have to be so carefull like you are setting it on stone. Corners are also easier on the little kids heads
  13. The Corian is comparable to granite and quartz...not cheap. It comes in 1/2" thick sheets and you laminate the edges for thickness and you can run a router down the edge for whatever profile you want. I think its best to have a counter top shop do it though. The thing with it is quartz stains and absorbs where the corian is totally impervious and will not stain
  14. Geez...thats too bad...you would love it here
  15. Bothers me that he was a reservist
  16. I was messing with them ...its the Crown that will be slushy Back at ya
  17. The thing about drunk driving laws is that all the law makers have a drink or 2 themselves. They may drive but they don't pick up a gun. There is the difference in penalties. With this kid, after the weekend he had. I am a bit suprised Greenspan didn't get him off on being too intoxicated to make any decision but the family is making him do the time for what he did. I of course have no real insight as to what is happening. 2 to 1 for time served before conviction I would think is why he never looked for bail before too, because he knew darn well there would be time involved
  18. I used to love that around here except my fishing partner went and moved to Kingston...pretty hard to replace a partner like that
  19. For counter tops my personal choice is the solid surface type stuff like Corian. Cleans super easy, its not hard when you set a wine glass on it, if its scratched you can buff it out. no sealant required. my wife swears by it. Corian is a brand but there are others the same basic thing
  20. There's a man with his priorities in order
  21. Hard call...what is the minimum and maximum for a first offence imparied causing death. He will get points for the guilty plea and not putting the family through the tortures of reliving it in court for months
  22. Sorry to hear that...hope you fine something really good for a new place
  23. Beats me, I will be fishing around home every weekend and in the summer it will either be a trip to Yellowknife to visit and fish or to Scotland....wifes choice
  24. I helped load a Yamaha Vector on a truck last week that was broke down. The guy said it was the drive shaft bearing that went out. It had 32,000 miles on it, 53,000km
  25. Polaris even has it hidden in the name...POS
