  1. We just need to get you a chain steering wheel, latino accent and some dingle balls and you'd really be cool. Nice job. I bet it'd be exciting on some fast water!
  2. I was just going to say Bancroft, but that's a little further. Good call Cliff.
  3. I'd probably start with the bucktail if it was me. I also like the ripplin redfin and these two (Lucky Strike Half Wave and orange striped devil bait) lures because TJ said (pic below). Also if the action is slow try a #3 or #4 Mepps Aglia, you never know what'll hit that.
  4. Awesome. Nice fish. That water is so beautiful. I have to fish there this year!
  5. Awesome. Glad to see this get resolved. Now Mike should go to the radio station and have a friendly chat with them. Mike, you and the Fish N Canada boys keep up the good work. How about you and Pete take me out fishing and I'll buy the beer LOL.
  6. Congratulations Joey. It's nice to know somebody actually wins those. Only a couple coffees for me so far. I keep hoping for the boat. Everytime I roll up the rim I say,"Come to Papa".
  7. It will really only affect getting there for me. I have a 14ft tinny with an 8hp Yamaha and a canoe because I have to keep my costs down, I really have no choice. But that said,I still have my family vacations booked for Sandbanks and Charleston. so that'll cost a few bucks in the old wagon but oh well. I'm not stopping my life or changing my vacation for the extra $50. I have customers with street rods, muscle cars etc. and a few of them are whining about the gas. Funny thing is these guys are the same ones that didn't flinch on the $5000 extra bucks they spent on modifying their engines or 5,10 or even $30,000 on the body and paint (yes $30,000)of their ride. Most of the guys drive their street/race cars maybe once a week in the fair weather if they're lucky. So an extra $10 to fill up shouldn't kill them. If it does they can always take up checkers instead. Honestly it may change the way we use our toys. Maybe we'll stay a litte closer to home? For the guys with the 200hp motors on the back, maybe they'll drift more, troll less, but I doubt it. Usually hard core guys just do there thing. Let's face it,we only go around once on this rock (except Lew's coming back as a Musky) so we may as well get the most out of it.
  8. Well said Cliff . That makes me feel like I'm part of a family here. It's funny I've only ever met a couple guys from the board, but I feel like I know some of you. Maybe some day I'll get to see you guys LOL.It seems many of you have more time off and yes,I'm jealous as hell . P.S. About the hockey, I bleed blue and white. Yes it's a sickness. I can't help it. I need my hockey fix almost as much as my fishing fix and being it's winter,it's hockey time. I also spend my spare time in the winter time trying to learn more about fishing.Goodness knows, I need all the help I can get This board has a nice mix of everything and some members who really know how to fish, are willing to help and trash talk the Leafs. You gotta love it.
  9. THAT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thanks for posting that.
  10. I don't want to upset anyone!
  11. Sorry I like them both. Extreme Angler and Fish N Canada. I'd love to go fishing with Pete Bowman or just about anyone from Extreme Angler. I can understand why some don't, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be on the air. To each his own. Now them not coughing up a prize is wrong, but it sounds to me like it was the radio stations responsibility and them you should have been going after. Now if you called Fish N Canada and explained what happened and I was runnung the place I would take care of customer and just send it out anyway ......... but if you called with some serious attitude (as above) and I had already fulfilled my end of the bargain (assuming the radio station is at fault) I wouldn't blame them for not sending it. Put yourself in their position. Sometimes it's the way you approach the problem that gets it solved or not. Sorry, JMHO.
  12. Hey Rich. You thought he was being quiet. He probably fell asleep from watching Shelley and Courtney.
  13. Take me to school Roy. What's wrong with C4's?
  14. Why not buy a station wagon? I've got an older Buick Roadmaster Wagon, but there is a Cprice Wagon and an Olds Custom Cruiser (hard to find) that are basically the same, just different trim levels. They are great, rwd and reliable. If you get an LT1 version they're quick (for a wagon) and get 26mpg. Just an option. Here's a pic of a cool one. Oh yeah, the second one is mine LOL .
  15. I think that's actually a big block LOL! Check out the valve cover bolt configuration. Who would paint a chevy engine yellow? Ick! That piece would make Tim the Toolman Taylor drool (okay everybody make the noise, I did).
  16. I wish TJ.I would have gone but I have to work at the Performance World Car Show (International Centre) this weekend. If anyone is going there stop by the Brant Performance booth and say hi.
  17. Gorgeous scenery in the third pic. Where is that?
  18. As far as the summer camping. My kids favorites are always the ones with fantastic beaches and swimming . For that The Pinery PP and Sandbanks PP can't be beat. I think both are well over 100kms from you (in opposite directions) but well worth the drive. If you want Sandbanks you better book a.s.a.p. You can book either park five months in advance, but Sandbanks fills up within hours. Actually all the good spots are usually gone in five or ten minutes. You book them online at 7:00 AM the morning that's five months before your arrival date. Be sure to get on the computer early and have everything picked out (I usually choose at least 10 sites that I would accept of the available sites). Have your Visa info and everything ready and make sure you create an account prior to booking as well. I just booked mine on Monday (for August) and got the first site(on my list). Within five minutes most were gone. I checked a couple hours later and everything in that entire area was gone (even the ones in the middle of a field rated full sun, poor site quality/poor site privacy). Apparently it's the most popular PP in Canada?
  19. Wow,alot of great replies! Thankyou everyone. Just curious,do any of you who use similar jigs tip them with anything? If so,when and with what? Just learning here guys. I may as well fish them properly . How about what situation you use them in and/or what technique you use when fishing these??
  20. I have to agree. I think the Astro/Safari (same basic van) are the best for the job. Rear wheel drive and a traditional V6 are easy to work on and cheap to fix. Heck you can change your own oil, plugs, alternator etc. with relative ease compared to any of the front wheel drives. I have customers that have converted them to a V8 (say a 350) and that's a pretty simple job too. It almost bolts right in. The 4.3 is basically a 350 (5.7) chevy with a couple cylinders lopped off and you know how reliable they are.
  21. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care guys. This should never happen to children. Makes you wonder sometimes.
  22. It is the hardware store.Bought some tackle there last year. Some really old stock too, for anyone looking for some oddball, hard to find (old) colours etc. I ended up getting a Mepps Musky Killer ther for around $8 or $9. Can't remember exactly, but it was cheaper than around here. They had an oddball type brand of ribbon tail purple worms that caught me some bass at Murphy's Point. Worked great and they were on really cheap.
  23. Take the rod and reel. Did anyone notice on the paper it's called a Stardic ? Really, maybe that is a present for the wife .
