Thanks Scott (aka Cranks Bait). There seems to be three different areas,Shady Ridge,Bayside and Meadowlands all with electrical sites. I was hoping to find someone that's actually been there that would give me the scoop on which area was nicest and even a site that they liked (if they're willing to share that info). Great info on the beach Scott. That makes me more comfortable for sure. Sounds like the kids would love it. Keep the replies coming guys. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Also, good info on the bait/tackle shop. That'll definetely come in handy. What's the name of it? How far is that?

That was a beauty boat Lew. This post should serve as a warning to everyone buying a used boat (especially privately). That's something I would have never never noticed. I guess if you're spending big $$$ always go for a test drive. Good thing your dealer took care of you. Good thing for him I bet LOL. I can just picture a salesman with a mouth full of muskie lures LOL .

Pics and a video of 7 yr. old niece catching first pike
kennyman replied to snag's topic in General Discussion
She's really cute. She was very cool in the video, almost nonchalant. I think the glasses suit her . Nice job uncle Snag! Maybe she'll follow in your footsteps. Next you can teach her to dump her bike and cell phone in the water . Sorry, had to throw that in there . -
Hi, I'll be booking our July family vacation next week (yes,it's that time already) and I think I've decided on Charleston PP. Any help with preferred sites (electrical ........yes we're wusses) would be a great help as well as any fishing advice (spots,lure/bait choice etc.) . I'd like to catch some big smallies and a couple monster pike would be nice too. I'm hoping a bunch of you have camped/fished here. How's the beach by the way? You don't have to post your answers if you're shy, a pm would be great too. Thanks guys.

Sweet boat Mike. That should really fly with the 50hp on it. Watch out fishies ........ here comes the "pike slayer".

Can't wait actually. I liked the show last year and free parking doesn't suck either. If you get any info on the seminars please post it.

Almost two years for me now. I'm so glad I did it and so is my family. I watched my mom have a heart attack (to which smoking was a HUGE contributing factor) and my closest aunt die from cancer (she was a sweetheart). Although her cancer was not caused by smoking I spent quite a bit of time in that hospital and it wasn't pretty. So basically it scared the crap out of me. It still isn't easy. I crave them once in a while and even reach for them somtimes, but all in all I think I'm over them now. You can do it too,you just have to want it. Keep it up. You can beat it. Just concentrate on not smoking that day.

Honestly, I don't think even Strahan can stop the Pats. Normally between those two teams I wouldn't really care who won, but I've got a friend who just lost his wife that's a huge Giants fan, so I'll be rooting for them. Go Eli !!!!!

That's cute! I knew Cliff was looking for young talent, but WOW!

My nickname is pretty simple. My first name is Ken and my buddy LJ (Little John), speaking of nicknames, often says in a cool tone "What's up Mr. Kennyman" or something very similar (different variations) and since it was the only nickname I really ever had (other than lardass, idiot etc.) it sort of stuck. That and if you try to use Ken,Kenny etc. it's usually been taken. This reminds me ........... hmmm ..... how about a little story here? Has anyone ever done this?Remember this is a LONG time ago. I'm out of town with a long time friend Scott (no nickname) on one of our spur of the moment "missions". We come out of a coffee shop and right above where we are parked is a street sign for "Little John Lane". Needless to say, we couldn't get out the wrenches fast enough. That sign was brought home with us and donated to Little John. He still has it to this day. Man, to be young and foolish again ............ or at least young.

Just a post recognizing another stand up company......
kennyman replied to Canuck2fan's topic in General Discussion
That is impressive. I'll look at Lindy products with a new confidence. It's great to hear that some companies actually stand behind their products. Besides that, Ted Takasaki can sure catch wallye can't he? Seems like he'd be fun to fish with. Good on ya Ted . -
I'm a die hard Leafs fan, but you'd think the Canadian government was running the team sometimes. Firing Ferguson is a bandaid solution. I bet Cliff will make the team better, but I'm hoping he doesn't mortgage the future of the team for an attempted playoff run. I'd rather someone did the exact opposite and gave up the old for some new. Look to the future Cliff ........... please.

Just a quick note here. A couple of my friends were crossing the border a few years back (one with prior arrests eons before that) and they seized the Chevy Blazer they were in. It wasn't even the "guy with the prior arrests" truck. They have SOOO MUCH POWER at the borders. Never take it lightly. Ninety nine times out of a hundred you might get across, but that one may really suck. P.S. They fought for months, but finally got the truck back.

My opinion is that handguns should be banned to the general public. Who needs a hand gun walking around a metropolitan area.?You can still have rifles, for those who hunt etc. , but they are much harder to conceal (think concerts, bars etc.). I agree with the "guns don't kill people, people kill people" credo, but why make it easier? We're already turning into the US at an alarming rate, let's not push it along any quicker please.

WOW! That last shot looks like it came out of a National Geographic. Nice pic.

WOW!! That is awesome. Now here's a guy who's living the dream. We're (okay,at least I am) sitting around in cities and Carl is guiding and building his own log cabin from scratch. That is mighty impressive . My hat goes off to you Carl. Thanks for the little window into your life.

I just switched over and plated my trailer a couple days ago. Same scenario. It's a 14 foot tinny with an 8hp Yamaha. I told them I bought a boat motor and trailer as a package and the trailer was only worth $100. They make you sign for the taxes etc. Came out to $43 alltogether. I guess I should have told them I made the trailer and painted it black, but it was only $43 the legal way. I guess when I get a bigger motor someday I'll have to register the boat too.

I say go for it. I wish I had a cottage in the worst way. It's a dream of mine that someday I hope is realized. It may end up being a retirement thing,it may never happen. (Hmmm, help the kids university or buy a cottage? My kids are more important to me, so I guess the tent trailer will do for now). I think there still are places you could speculate would get substantial appreciation, you'll just have to look around and find the right place/town/lake. There's only so much waterfront property in this world. I can't think of many investments that would give you such pride or be more enjoyable to own.

If it was me I'd try www.kijiji.com and then click on each city you're interested in or go to http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites.html . One more http://www.boattraderonline.com/. Good luck.

Congratulations on both new additions. Do either have a name yet? Seems like not too long ago we had our first and last night we went to her high school registration? Time flies. Take it all in and enjoy every momoent.

You can't beat the 20 year warranty. That's right a 20 YEAR WARRANTY!!! And they're Canadian. Sound great too. There are many others as well. Here's a couple links you need to have ........ www.canuckaudiomart.com and www.audiogon.com You can get alot more for your money if you buy used from these sites. P.S. Don't worry about all the specs. So much of that is fudged or just plain crap. Let your ears pick out your stereo and if you find a good shop they'll ask you alot about the components from your system, suggest you bring them in and encourage you to bring your own music. If you want to know if it's sounds good in a normal sized room with your equipment you'll be better off listening to it like that, right??? If you want a great shop with an honest guy with a great ear try Mark at Soundstage in Waterloo. he is really good and has some great equipment that normal people can afford. You can get a GREAT amp for $1500 by the way. If I had to pick an integrated for you it would be a Rega Mira, Audio Refinement Complete or a Creek 5350SE. YBA Integre DT's are fantastic as well (used).Research these and see what you come up with. Good luck. Close your eyes and use your ears. Flashy lights don't sound good.
