  2. Those are grat looking jigs singingdog. Nice job. Looks like you've been doing that a while?
  3. Wow,another beauty. Okay Cliff, teach me how to do this. What exactly did you catch them on? Is that some sort of floating egg pattern fly?
  4. Those are just beauty! I really have to learn how to do that. NICE!!!
  5. "Family Affair" .... with Jody and Buffy and Mr. French LOL . Okay, now I'm dating myself . (TV for any youngsters out there)
  6. Where exactly on Lake Huron would you be holding this? Sounds interesting. I've never kayaked, but always wanted to try. I'm always looking at the fishing rigged kayaks at the sportsman shows. I own a canoe by the way,so I'm pretty sure I'd catch on. I'm not sure I could catch any fish though . Sounds very interesting to me . I have a buddy that always wanted to kayak as well, so maybe.
  7. HMMM, last name White ......... catching steelhead .... two teenagers ....... I guess Whiteheads is bad eh? LOL . Actually I just chimed in to say I liked the name WhiteCaps as well. Good one guys.
  8. That was awesome. I just copied and sent that out by e-mail to friends and family.
  9. Nice pike !! What are those two white, round shaped objects beside the hole? Were you trying to catch fisherman?
  10. WOW, first of all it looks like a great place to have a cottage. This is probably the place responsible for your love of fishing etc. or at least part of it , so it must be a fantastic feeling to own it. Just curious Bernie, did you spend summers here as a kid? Secondly, nice job! You must be pretty handy. That looks like alot of work to get it right. I'm very envious .
  11. Hey Dan, if I catch one beauty like that,it'll be worth it. Did you make that jig in the pic? Maybe someday I'll be that talented (like Mepps) . For now I guess I'll just buy them. What made me buy them is I was watching Fish TV and Leo Stakos was catching walleye on one very similar and outcatching Ron James who was using a crankbait I believe (Leo outfish Ron ...Naah,must be the lure right?). They mentioned that they were tied by somebody in Oakville, Burlington or somewhere local but I forgot. Who knows I may have all the details wrong, but the "weird" (to me) lure tied by someone local stuck in my brain. Then I ran across these and thought they looked very familiar. I pm'd the guy and asked whether there was a connection. He said yeah, I tied jigs for those guys, Henry and Italo and Bob Izumi (he mentioned others too). Apparently he had a portable "store" that he used to follow the circuit with. He then gave me tips on fishing them, like using the "white's" on Simcoe etc. All in all it was a great buying experience. Now it's up to me to make them catch fish I guess. Oh Dan, I sent you a pm reply as well.
  12. I just bought these last night from a gentleman in Burlington. He hand ties these beauties and has set them up as a system where there is a light, a dark, and a colorful model in each style to suit different water colours/lighting conditions/situations. Has anyone on the board used these or similar? I'd be very interested in the details. He's a nice guy too. If anyone wants to know who he is just pm me.
  13. I was there yesterday too, although I wouldn't know anyone from the board (except father of 3) if I fell over them. I keep an eye out for an OFC hat or shirt, whether there or at a fishing show etc but haven't seen one yet. I was at a show at one of the warehouses I buy from and was going right by on the way home, plus my uncle who came with me had never been there, so I just had to stop ...... you know LOL. I bought five packs of plastics (two yum shakey worms, one Yum ribbon tail, one blue/white tubes, one Zoom white trick worms) ,two lures (super spot and a popper) and two packs of Gamakatsu offset worm hooks and came out for $ twenty two something tax in.You gotta like it! I would have bought a bit more, but half the stuff I went in for they had already sold out of. I guess half a deal is better than no deal. I also stopped off in Burlington and got some hand tied jigs on the way but we'll leave that until tonight when I can post pics. These things are beautiful.
  14. YIKES!!!! That's just ugly. "YOU'RE NOT GONNA TAKE THAT" are you Pete?
  15. A little off topic, my favorite scene from that movie
  16. OH, OH!!! What have I started LOL I can just hear one of my favorite parts "That was my skull, I'm so wasted"
  17. I was thinking Spicoli the whole time!!!
  18. Wow, congratulations Dave. I enjoyed your seminar at the Spring Fishing Show as well. Always entertaining (or edutaining). Just wind you up or put a quarter in and away you go, stopping every twenty minutes for a breath (or Subway sub LOL) and away you go again. All kidding aside, you're a great ambassador for the sport and Canada. P.S. I still haven't seen my first full length "Facts of Fishing" show. I have the BPS videos and everyone has seen the "shorts". I'm looking forward to it and having more opportunities to catch the new show is all good.
  19. WOW!! Gotta love that 24 carat gold beauty. From Simcoe none the less. Awesome!
  20. I've never fished the Niagara, but all these gorgeous pics are sure making me want to. Beauty fish!! You gotta love the colour of the water. Awesome!
  21. What a gorgeous fish and pic. You could use that for an ad. Makes me want to try it for sure! Nice job. What reel are you using? Someday I'll be looking for a used setup and being it's your fave setup, maybe I'll file that info in the back of my brain for future reference. Man, I'm jealous. I should have started fishing twenty years ago. Soooo much to learn.
  22. You can build more for a while still. They say another 15cm (6"'s) on the way. More shovelling too. Yeah!
  23. I know the lucky strike sounds close, but maybe not exact. Here's a pic.
  24. I was at BestBuy in Kitchener and they had a 60" Sony SXRD for $1299. I think the 50" was $1199? My buddy paid about $4000 about a year or so ago for the same one(60"). Great deal, just because it isn't the newest thing on the market. Great looking tv . Here's an article where a 50" SXRD won a Sound and Visions "Editors Choice". http://www.sound-academy.com/events/show/52 .
  25. It's kind of a modern reggae/alternative mix. Hey,hey,hey,hey...... hey beautiful day. Here's the link http://www.sound-academy.com/events/show/52. Go,you'll love it.
