  1. Sometimes the best info to post on an open forum is NONE!
  2. Beauty eyes and the fish are nice too. Congrats on the pending nuptials.
  3. I don't think he makes anybody post anything. Well he did make me post this.....
  4. True, fish in rivers and their smaller cousins streams, creeks and brooks are far less likely to be affected by wind directions than lake fish.
  5. You guys and gals is real swell. But someone needs to vote to get her off the 666 count.
  6. Terrific, congrats to the to Cudz and SRT8 and a big thumbs up to you Phil and the Mrs.
  7. I'll refer you back to my first comment.
  8. So you're trashing them not because they're graphite bodies but because they're Shimanos?
  9. Well what do I know. Okay I know my Daiwa graphite body bait casters (15 or so years old) have landed me Georgian Bay Kings, Whities, Steel, Lakers and Browns as well as Simcoe Lakers and Whities, both on ice and open water. But I'll cede to your infinite wisdom on all things fishing related.
  10. Looks like a winner for my ice fishing set ups. I like graphite bodies over aluminium in the cold months, much more comfortable on the hands.
  11. I'd say about 60% of my ice fishing rods came to me as broken rods. Some have become my faves while others collect dust, but it is rewarding to give an old broken rod a new life.
  12. I'd say smallie given the location of the pectoral and pelvic fins.
  13. While it could be done it's a very involved process and would totally change the rod action. If I were to do so I'd remove the 12"s from the butt only and of course this would require installing a new handle and seat, removing and replacing all the guides for correct spacing. The risk of damaging the blank is great and the new position of the guides would leave the old positioning of the guides obvious. Best recommendation, buy a 6'er and sell the 7'er to cover your costs if your not happy with it.
  14. It's okay Dave I'm sitting down, go ahead and tell me I won.

  16. Honestly, the flies in the first picture are poor copies of some of the older more popular flies. They may work but I'd recommend putting a little fly head cement on the heads first, or at least a little clear nail polish as they have a tendency for the thread to unravel, quickly. The 2 flies in the second picture will likely out fish all the previous ones time and time again.
  17. LOL.....That's what the beers for.
  18. Johnny, head down the 407 to Hamilton and I'll share my beer and percs with ya, free! It won't solve anything but you won't care.
  19. It's not local to you but they will ship and have an assortment of kits available at reasonable prices.. http://johnsflymaterials.webs.com/flytyingkits.htm I've tried to order fly tying materials from the States but unfortunately any sources I've tried won't ship to Canada.
  20. Oh well won't win if I don't venture a guess. 8.75 (or 8lbs 12oz) Very generous of you Phil.
  21. You had Nintendo, wow, lucky you! I had Pong. Mind you I rarely used it as Bronte was just a 15 minute bike ride away. Funny the cultural differences, my mother had a wooden spoon. But like your mother she used it cause it hurt her more than me if she used her hand. Dad of course had a leather belt. As usual a great post Mike, congrats on your walleye success.
