Thanks for all the comments on the flies folks. Here's my first attempt at making my first wood reel seat for a float rod (I know it's not bait/lure making, but it is totally fishing related). It is only in the rough stages at the moment and needs to be refined somewhat but overall I think not bad for a first go at wood turning.

It'll be an awesome weekend whatever the weather does Cliff, can't wait!

No, but you may want to put some sheet aluminium (spaced off the frame a 1/2 inch) in the corner behind the wood stove or leave that lower corner free of insulation.

That's pretty sweet Simon, no doubt you'll get maximum use out of it. Just a thought though, some rigid insulation between the studs will make it t-shirt cozy!
