  1. Ah that's too bad Wayne. I'd have given you my 4 but you not getting my 3's .....
  2. Gentle warming (I use steam) and your thumbnail.
  3. Here's some good introductory reading.... http://www.rodbuilding.org/faq.html
  4. What type of reel seat is it, wood, graphite, aluminium? What type of blank is it, bamboo, fibreglass, graphite? and yes keep the acetone well away from it.
  5. I'll close this thread by stating that in the past there has been willful and intentional feeding of my dog against my wishes and it has made her ill. That has been rectified I hope. During dinner I kept Brook laying down behind me but I did witness other dogs being fed. It is my opinion that if you do not have permission from the dog owner to feed his dog....DON'T!
  6. I'm having issues with my Lund fuel guage as well. Last year it started working intermittently then died. When I engage the main power switch the indicator needle drops slightly (showing it has power) but regardless of how much fuel is in the tank it always reads empty! Very frustrating!
  7. Thanks everyone, I hope it brings as much happiness to Jen as it did for me working through the process. Wayne assured me that Jen was an avid fishergirl and that this gift would undoubtedly bring a smile to her face, Lord know she deserves it. To quote your own words Wayne "Karma... it is a three way street correct?," it is and I'm happy to be in a position to return the kindness! And you're correct Roy, John is an enabler, thanks again John!
  8. Great shot Brandon, perhaps you should have named your dog....."Trout."
  9. Good stuff Doc, happy to be of some assistance. Looks like your builds are coming along very nicely! Also a nice reward for your efforts!
  10. Exactly, don't use common pressure treated lumber due to a copper, aluminium reaction. http://www.canada.co...f1-97cf362d841d
  11. Using the schematics for my Quantums I've ordered the needed parts from "Aikmans," not hard to clean, repair and lube yourself.
  12. Mine is a nickname I've had for over 30 years, it was born of another meaning but these days it mostly means "man who ingests beer then yammers incessantly."
  13. Was another awesome year! Familiar faces and new it was great to meet and spend time with everyone.
  14. I don't see it happening for me in the next few weeks Dave but I wish you continued success. I hope to see another report before the waters warm up.
  15. Pretty sure we don't have a bandwidth limit.... http://www.ontariofishing.ca/media/
  16. It's worthy of compliment, I can see (and know) the amount work involved and your work looks flawless and certainly carries artistic merit too. I'm sure if you're anything like me your biggest critic is always yourself. Again, nice work.
  17. Ten rods you say, hell I'd have thought hundreds. Nice work.
  18. That boat is going to make a great picture parked next to my black Lund when we finally hook up Al.
  19. I'll give you a warm welcome Dave, but you might have been better off not metioning Geoff....just saying....
  20. Funny boy....LOL I should have said 75 horse tiller.
  21. It's a 75 tiller Brian, you up to it?
  22. I'm sure you could do it Wayne, just keep the rods in the plane.....
  23. How are you going to get there Chris.....
  24. The use of stretchy mono or a no stretch braid also has contibuting factors. In the past I often used wooden sticks wrapped with low stretch mono for ice fishing, the sensitivity is unmatched.
