Fishing chrome in the "twilight zone". Nice fish, WTG!!

The only difference between $50 all around rod and $200 all around rod, as someone said, is weight and construction, eg. Better reel seats, way better guides, lifetime warranties. I will say it again I rather buy custom. But don't get me wrong I can catch a 10lb bass with and Ugly Stick as I could with loomis or st. croix. IMO, it's all personal preference.

I own a few $300 rods, but they are custom, what I want on it and made to my specs. I will probably never spend $300 on a shelf rod. I don't think the money is worth it.

She doesn't know about this site. Oh, when my packages arrive, all I say is "it was really cheap".

Pretty soon, everything. No No kidding

Will I every leave my fishing stuff in the car or in the boat. I had some time on my hands today, so for chits and giggles I calculated my bass, walleye, Musky, pan fish, trout and Carp equipment that I take with me for the day, not the stuff that is sitting around. So I grab a calculator and crunching numbers (low balling the price of course), I hit equals and I almost passed out. I recommend to give it a try, and I know for sure you will never leave you stuff unattended again. I did it for the hell of it, and also realized I am addicted. Intervention time. LOL

I do have another suggestion for a bag, I have 3 of the Browning 370 bags, they hold and come with 6 boxes, can hold a 360 box in the front, not included. Has a back pocket for maps etc... 2 huge side pockets, sun glass holder in front, zipper in top flap, zipper in front pocket, plus non zippered front pocket, fits 360 box. Tool holders on all 4 corners, hard bottom, carry strap and handle. Best of all, reason I bought then, 100% waterproof. Not to many bags on the market are waterproof. BPS is the only one that has them, no they don't show it on the website. Just a suggestion. Daniel

I have the stalker bag, but with the wheels. It is huge, but I love it. I have 5 4600 boxes in there, 2 BPS medium double sided worm binders, Spinnerbait binder, fluoro leader spools in the 2 spool compartments. My pliers and cutters in the 2 holders, I took out the removable rain cover, there are endless things you can do with this bag, compared to the hard case satchel you are thinking about. Just a note, it does not come with the boxes. I do recommend you purchase the Plano 4600 half thick boxes, more room, more boxed, less clutter. I am not a salesman, just love that bag. Hope this helps, Daniel

I went to a local shop got the eye replaced for $6, way cheaper than shipping the rod out. CTC has a tip replacement tip, comes with tip and glue. Oh, ya, instructions. Daniel

Hunters course and Turkey course will set you back a bit. The starter bow anywhere from $399- $650, you need range practice (if you don't have a place to) $12 a day, yes, you will have to practice a lot, a bow is not point and shoot. The are many variables involved. Oh ya $10 an arrow (I use lightspeeds), broad heads. It will cost a bit to start, but it`s worth it. You do need both courses. Hope this helps, Daniel

Quick steelhead tacklebox rundown: Advice needed
bassjnkie replied to BillM's topic in General Discussion
I`m not a pro steelheader, this is what I recommend, Shot - Raven dispencer at Bass pro $9.99 for most shot pattern - AAA to #8 Swivels - Bass pro - Blackbird 20 or so in a pack, there tiny Hooks size #10 - #16, I like the Daiichi (as mentioned), Gama Octopus, and raven octopus, specialist or Sledge. Leader - any flouro will do 4lb, I like to use a tippet material it's very thin. Bait - Looks like you have it covered Floats - The blackbird ones you have a good. Hope this helps -

We hunt with an 80+ year old, He always said, I rather die than give up the sport. It's like forceing an 80 year to quit smoking, when he doesn't want to. But if you affraid your dad is a risk to himself or others, than ya tell him to hang up the gun. like people said, have him spotting. Daniel

Anyone one use them, any feedback good or bad? Thanks Daniel

As Hammercarp mentioned there is a Carp Anglers Group fish-in on Sunday, the carp are there at this time of year. I won't be able to make it, been sick for 3 weeks, but you should try to make it down. There will be experienced carp angler there that will be happy to help you out and answer any questions you may have. Last year this time there were many fish in the 30+ range caught. To anwser you Rice lake question, it's a little to late to find them in the tribs, this time of year they are into the deeper part of Rice Lake. Bring on all the newbie carp issue, we will be happy to help. Check out www.carpanglersgroup.com and/or www.ontariocarphunters.com (site under construction), but the community forum and picture gallery are running Hope this helps Daniel
