No problem just a suggestion. Fishing world has a great selection as mentioned. Bass pro has great combos also. Shop around and see what feels good and what suits your needs. Oh, Ya, check the Daiwa stuff out

OMG your still fighting with Okuma. I sent a baitrunner to them about 6 months ago, called them and they can't find it. Called again Thursday, can't find it, OH WELL, they can keep thier Piece of reels. I will never buy an Okuma again. Back to the post. STAY AWAY FROM OKUMA.

The hook thing, saves me alot of floor space and I know I won't step on a rod. This rod storage system post inspired me to make a "How to: Oraganize you tackle and equipment" LOL
-
There Home Depot hooks, and the bonus is they are regular 76cents each.

I have a Tracker and drains perfectley at even a slight slope. Maybe a Lund owner can help, sorry I can't help. Daniel

When I first saw that holder, I thought it was a good idea. So I decided to make the same thing. I put it over the garage like in the picture, well I don't want to use a ladder everytime I need a rod. Now I use the greay home depot hooks, screwed into the joists in the basement ceiling. Nice and neat, easy to get to. The rod holder in the link has to be mounted high up or else you get poked in the eye if they are low. I will post some pics of my setups, by the way those berkley locking holder are really good. Here are the pics of my 3 setups, works for me. But just an idea

3 identical setup I use a Fenwick 7' HMX Medium, got the tip guide replaced because the factory one is flimsey/crap. Paired with a Quantum Catalyst PTi20 chrome version and 20Lb PP. I am thinking of selling one of the combos if you want to buy used. Why I like them: Rod is very sensetive, you feel evey bite, nice backbone for bass, but soft enough for walleye. Bought at LeBaron Reel is super smoth, pure titanium un-bendable bail, magnetic bail trip, no sping, and VERY smooth drag. Comes with spare alum spool. LeBaron. They don't make this chrome model anymore, but they still make the PTi20, but it's dark grey. Reel: Daiwa: Tierra 2500, Exceler 2500, Steez 2500, Dawia are great. Shimano Truthfully I am not a Shimano guy, but I do like the Sedona 2500 What not to buy: 1 - Lower end Abu Garcia rods, reels 2 - Mitchell, many bad reviews. 3 - Bass Pro reels. Rods are good though 4 - Any reel under $60, I've had them all.

Berkley make some ok products, I think your problem what defective crimp. Personally I wouldn't trust Berkley steel leaders if my life depended on them. I can't remeber but I think I use the Spro leaders, and never had a problem. Daniel

When I was ten I started fishing with my uncle in his 12' alum boat for walleye on Scougog. I remeber it like yesterday. tie on a harness, fix the worm on. Cast it out there and let the wind drifed the boat, no trolling with a motor. When I purcased my first boat I started to troll and never every tries the drifting method again. We would hammer the walleye left and right just by letting the wind drift us across the honey hole, then motor back and drift again. Now my question: Is the difting method still used, or is it a lost art with the introduction of the trolling motor? Daniel

If we get any deers this year, I will GIVE you the tails. I will keep you in mind Daniel EDIT: I add you you as a friend so I will remeber.

How Many Species Have You Caught So Far?
bassjnkie replied to MCTFisher9120's topic in General Discussion
Common carp, Mirror carp, crusian carp, grass carp, walleye, tiger musky, pike, chain pickeral, SM & LM bass, Sunfish/pumpkin seeds, White & Black crappie, bowfin, ling, channel cats, bullheads, Salmon and rainbow(in the rivers), Chubs, shad, perch, rock bass, gold eye, smelts, Thanks for starting this post, never realized how many species I actually caught. Thanks Daniel -
Don't get me wrong, I wasn't saying you let it ride, I was talking in about the big % that do. I am talking about the 90% of Visa purchasers that say don't use pay pal because they charge you 3%, then these people buy, don't pay thier bills and accumilate 16% instead of 3%. Personally I have a 2 Accounts on Paypal that are mainly used for selling (credit) and 2 accounts, 1 being for Online purchases, eg. BPS or Cabales, and the other strikley for Ebay. The credit cards are there for the hell of it. My 2 buying accounts, I add money evey 2 months, with a certain amount for each account, I don`t roll over the money, so lets say after 2 moths the accounts have $60, I just add enough to bring me to my max. Sorry for all the chatting, this is what I learned to do over the years, so I don`t get screwed down the road. Maybe this could be usefull for someone, WHO KNOWS. Daniel

I never get charged 3% for buying. I sold hundreads of items all over the world, got charged 3% (peanuts for a great service), I recived my money in my account within 5 days everytime. I never had anyone hack my account or steal my money in my account. I was even with paypal from the start. I have 4 bank account and 3 credit cards registered with Paypal and never ever had a problem. Truthfully I hate using a credit card, the bill comes in at the end of the month, you look at it, and say let it ride this month. When it comes out of a bank account the item(s) you bought are paid in full, no worries that you owe money. Just my 2c Daniel

I mainly use barbless Kamasan, Korda, Fox hooks for carp, float, and match fishing. I find no difference between barbed and barbless.

8 of the 12 pond I fish have been either stocked many years ago or recently. 4 of the ponds were, as mentioned, dried up mini lake and streams. Daniel
