  3. I wouldent be complaining if I were you... I just bought a BMW this year and found out that winter tires (with the alloys) are $3000... Needless to say, the car will be sitting in the garage all winter.

  7. Hey all I am wondering if I gutted and took off the head of a smaller pike (say 20") Would I be able to wrap it in tin foil and place it on the bbq just like a trout? Kind of stupid question but I know the pike have lots of slime and scales so i'm not sure if they would be the same as trout. Thanks in advance - Matt
  8. Thanks for the info! We were fishing from 1 pm - 4:30ish, covered about 1/3 the shoreline of the pond. Maybe they were hanging around in the middle of the pond
  9. Caught a bow on an original floating rapala once
  10. Hey all I got out for some crappie fishing at a small local pond which will remain unamed with a few buddies of mine to try for some crappie. We got there, unloaded our stuff and started to fish part of the pond where I had limited out on 9-12" crappie last weekend. We tried micro tubes, twistertails, gulp minnows, and worms all suspended under a small pencil bobber for roughly 3 hours and ended up with 1 6" crappie to show for it. I am wondering what types of lures or bait I should be using this time of year for them as well as any specific locations that I should be looking for them (i.e. mouths of creeks, weedbeds, stumps, brush pilings, etc.) The pond is pretty shallow with some brush and bullrushes on the shore and is fed by a small creek if that info helps. Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated as I will probably fish there next weekend. Thanks in advance - Matt

  13. those signs are all over lasalle... I've told a lot of people that the fish are not ok to eat out of the bay but a lot of people don't know/don't care.
  14. EDIT: Dunno if were talking about the same place.
  15. buy a good bass fishing book, some of them are worth their weight in gold, but it also helps a lot to talk to people that fish the same waters as you will be fishing.
  16. My buddy landed 2 5pounders in one trip I'd say that there was more big bass then pike there!
  17. I still have to catch some southern ontario speckles! panfish would be nice too.
  18. I've heard that there's carp, salmon, and trout hanging around the peir as well as sheepshead cruising the walls of the pier. Would there also be walleye, bass, pike, etc. present?
