  2. mepps black fury #1 orange dot. you can tip it with a worm too.
  3. 3 way rigs work good there..
  4. I'm in my late teens, and back when I was 10 or 11 me and my friend used to go try to catch the bass OOS. If it hadent been for a man like yourself giving us some good constructive advice and telling us where to get the regs guide, we might still be doing it today so I think what you did was great and you approached it in a good way like you were trying to help them.
  5. maybe port maitland has them?
  6. could those holes be the work of a great blue heron?
  7. thanks alot just one other question: does the loud drone of the outboard scare the fish as you pass over them? I really don't know im a total newbie and only caught 1 bass and a pike last year trying to troll, and i think walleye are more finicky. Thanks
  8. I've seen a guy and his daughter pull a 5-6 pounder out of hamilton harbour a few years ago from shore. Caught on a white spinnerbait. Me and my friend ended up landing it for them.
  9. I have been getting really interested in trolling crankbaits for walleye lately but have no idea how to approach it. Could anybody help me out by outlining some spots I should be trying (points, drop-offs, etc), how much line I should be letting out, and what lures I should be using (flatlining only). I have no electronics, line counter, trolling motor, etc. I'd like to have the basic idea figured out by opener. For lures I have: 3x husky jerk 2x wally diver 1x hot n' tot 2x shad rap Is there any other lures I should pick up so that I have lures for the entire water column? How much line should I be letting out? Would a long cast behind the boat work? How fast should I be trolling? I would guess just run the outboard as slow as I can? Thanks, Matt.
  10. troll x-raps or husky jerks for both pike and walleye. HJ 12 or 14 size should do the trick.
  11. 4 lb fluorocarbon, small hook, small piece of a worm. no split shots or anything else. just drift it along and you'll get them. I also did really well on tiny spinners last year (panther martin #1, mepps #0).
  12. fishmasters is the way to go
  13. jeez thanks for all the quick replies guys it will really help me out!
  14. oops fixed that this kinda thing is probably why I got a 76 in my english course last semester...
  15. I've always owned fenders but you just can't beat the tone and power of a marshall. RIP.
  16. Hey guys I purchased a few spinner rigs/worm harnesses for walleye yesterday, and I was wondering how you are supposed to store them? I now have 6 spinner rigs and if I were to just put them all in my tackle box they'd be a mess and pretty well unusable. Does anybody have any suggustions/methods they use? Thanks!!
  17. my biggest (and only) pike was a 21"er. woo-hoo?
  18. i think you should try 50 pt. good luck, make sure to tell us if you get anything!!

  20. nice. i tried for 3 hours with live minnows and not even a bite.
  21. Thanks
  22. Can crappies tell the difference between micro tubes and real live minnows? Last year I caught lots of crappies on micro tubes but never really tried live minnows. I think maybe in the early spring they are a bit more finicy and would prefer something real? Thanks, Matt.
  23. i was at bayfront, bought some big minnows. not a bite all day...
  24. 5'6-6'0 UL-L, with 4 lb mono
