  1. Good to hear, just ran the motor with marine Sta-Bil in prep for storage. Also, do I NEED to use NMMA oil or will a good quality motor oil do ? Thinking sae 10w30 or maybe 40 tia
  2. Since we're in the winterizing period, saw that marine Sta-Bil was on sale at Canadian tire for $7.29 (reg $10.49). The red stuff was also on sale. Was supposed to end Oct 27 but guess they're keeping it low to move it.
  3. this has 'Win' written all over it lol
  4. I'd be tempted to park beside a particularly nasty piece of rock/shoal and fish off the deep side. Wait a few minutes till he crunches up on said piece of rock and then flash a nice eff u smirk. and leave him behind
  5. Not to make light of this thread but speaking of restraints, and I know it's Hollywood and anyone who has seen Demolition Man (admit it) knows where I'm going. There's a scene where the fine actor Stallone totals a car but in the process, the cabin fills instantaneously with a foam that basically encases the occupants. Kinda like spray gap filler writ large. I wonder if anything similar is on the drawing boards at some r&d think tank and possible or is it just sci fi ?
  6. ??
  7. Thanks for posting this video skeeter ! Not sure if there's a video on Youtube but this pales compared to the ones you see in Australia re: drunk driving. Those are extremely graphic and extremely realistic and probably send a few people running to the washrooms to toss their cookies. I used to be a 'will wear a seatbelt if I remember' kind of driver but now I'm like 99.9% of the population that buckles up instinctively and anyone who rides shotgun does the same or they get the Vinnimon treatment and rightly so. I agree there could be less government involvement in many issues but on this one, not getting that feeling and don't understand the crowd that refuses to wear the belt.
  8. so, so sorry for your loss Corvette1, I have no words that express my feelings. My dad also had a reaction to meds and died a few years ago so I understand a small bit of what you're going through. Stay strong for everyone else and they'll be there for you as well.
  9. Have you considered the Coleman oven ? Folds down to roughly 1.5" x 12"x 12". Have done roasts, corn bread etc in it. Not the lightest thing out there but works well.
  10. Sounds like you guys still had a great time in spite of Mother Nature although maybe we need to see photos of your rain dance Wayne . I'd trade a week or two of rain at the cottage vs working in the city any day, any time ! What I want to know is, who outfished who
  11. niiice and fat with BIG bellies !
  12. Terrific read, thanks Wayne ! I have to admit I was nearly doubled over in stitches watching 'stumpy' get lowered from the helicopter ( I'm thinking "someone get this moose some lifts" ) Going to be hard for Angus to top this adventure, that's for sure and I agree, that rack is just plain humongous !
  13. I heartily applaud your letting them know you're onto them and taking their photo, however, tbh, I'm not feeling the need for stepping on their gear no matter how satisfying it may have felt. Seeing their arses burned by CO's would have been reward enough. Chances are you may get another chance to see them caught and this would be supremely cool.
  14. free room and board right beside the factory. no need to commute.
  15. Was speaking with a financial reporter from a business daily and he told me it was staggering the amount of money that corporations have tucked away in offshore accts. I think there was a link earlier but if they could get these greedy pigs to pay taxes on this, the Euro crisis would be more like a small blip on the radar. I have no problems with creating wealth (and wish I had bank stocks) but it's the tax dodges like offshores they employ that burns me.
  16. didja hafta get another freezer just for Bullwinkle ? Nice day of surf and turf, hope you don't dull too many blades processing him
  17. almost looks cute...in a Hellboy kinda way
  18. Nah. They'll be off trail somewhere going over severely deep pow and flip their machines over. The 15 mile hike out postholing in the same pow leaves them severely frost bitten and blubbering like idiots. By the time they find their sleds in the spring, they'll have been stripped down to the tracks leaving nothing but a few errant bolts. After which point, their wives, if they have any, will shoot them.
  19. passed it along to people who hopefully can help spread the word
  20. beautiful specks !
  21. Different kettle of fish and those casts look nice at high frame rates but this is what gets my blood going and why I'm getting back to tossing feathers.
  22. Mark Carney, the governor for the Bank Of Canada called the main message of the movement "entirely constructive", and raised a few eyebrows with this comment so it's got the attention of the guy who tells me what interest I'll be paying on my mortgage. I'm actually glad to see people at least trying to engage in something as opposed to just moaning about it online or amongst themselves. Whether this results in anything is another matter all together. All I know is, the smell of buds was noticeable when I passed by the park today I was also surprised to see that the crowd was not entirely all young lefties but included a number of retirees.
  23. hey oldphart, were they drumming late into the night ? heard the noise was a major issue for those living in close vicinity. got ear plugs if ya need them I think it'll peter out as it doesn't seem like the occupy community in toronto is cohesive (can't decide on what they wanna do and in fact splinter off into separate protests) and lew, that is a killer rainbow to wake up to !
  24. this is the one I would get if I had long portages and had to get the canoe and gear across. The height is important and is more ergonomic than others I've seen, saves your back from hunching over while pulling the thing. http://www.outdoorpl...=587--EOU_SSATC
