Just to be clear, is the internet you provide for yourself or also for your landlord (they provide satellite service). I would try and figure out your data usage and possibly get an appropriate plan for your mobile device. If you have an iPhone or Blackberry, they can be tethered and then you can create your own hotspot if needed. If there's a landline, check Bell's page to see if there's hi speed connectivity there. If you have to provide for your landlord, then you can get a wireless hub/router from Bell and access this way (vs ethernet).

maybe a Sikorsky would be able to drop that down in the right spot for ya nice and smooth. would give away your location however

Wow, this is not something I was hoping to read here for a long time to come. My sincerest condolences Bruce and I hope you keep the happy memories Peanut shared with you, deep in your heart where it will give you strength and peace of mind. As others said, this is something only dog/pet owners can really appreciate and I hope the words you read here help you in your time of loss.

ha ha, half joking but it would definitely be something I would probably do just to be different. I'd go LED though instead of fluorescent, easier on the battery but not same light quality though which could be important for those long sessions. Figure a 15w panel would top up a battery (if it was running LEDs) and then take the whole thing with you when yer done for the day/s. Maybe add some 3m reflective tape or driveway markers to the outside corners as well as solar lights to keep sledders from running into your ice home. Hope you take tons of photos when this thing is set up !

Great photos Drew, winter looks like a wonderful time to be up there and I imagine you feel the pull every day. -
Ahh, never thought of that. You've definitely given it some serious thought about what works and doesn't and this will add to the pleasure of using your hut when the ice is thick enough. Would be cool to have a small solar panel so you can run some patio lights along the outside

Can you tell me again why the holes are along the walls and not in the middle ? Things are moving really fast now and it won't be long before you're hauling that on the lake and cutting holes and pulling fish through the holes ! Looking great so far.

I think his question got sidetracked and as he said he's not looking for a payday out of this. Having said that, I think the posters who are seen as questioning, believe that if a neighbour's house was destroyed, the last thing they'd be concerned with was glass in the driveway and where they're going to park a car. They'd be more concerned, rightly so, about the family next door and how they're going to deal with losing most likely everything they own, especially during the Christmas season, which, if they have kids, makes it doubly more difficult. I know if I was more worried about my car or boat vs the now homeless family, my wife would probably take me out back, line me up like she was making an attempt from the 40 yard line, and give me a swift kick in the ass to reset my priorities, for starters. Perhaps he might have rephrased the question differently if he had a redo. I'm sure Dana will do the right thing for the neighbours.

I only use Paypal with people I trust not to back out and file a claim. Email Interac is another option and is safer for the seller I believe but when in doubt, Tim Hortons with cash in hand is the safest for all involved.

There are some better men than me on this board, esp with Solo's account cuz I'm not sure what I would have done but ugly would have been in the equation. I'm getting worked up reading these stories and it makes me truly sad that people can be such idiots. Bruce, I hope the owner loses his dog to a better, responsible owner, if indeed it can be rehabilitated. And Solo, that owner will get his eventually and chances are someone is going to give the boots to his terrier some day if it's got a bad attitude and is a biter, small dog or not.

Hope Peanut comes out ok and not too skittish after this attack. I'd be going after the owners like flies on crap. Their cavalier attitude needs to be adjusted permanently and with serious consequences and indeed, if it was a young child or infant , who knows what might have happened. I really can't blame the dog, but the owners... Hell, they should be banned from ownership for a long time and forced to do community, cleaning up at a shelter.

give him a steady steak and taters diet and 20-30lbs and he would be at home as a hw and tool bork.

Still not big fan of JBJ. He really needs to move up a weight class imo, not because he's clearing out the div, because he's not really lhw imo. He's a scrawny hw Wish the Hominick/ Zombie fight had gone MUCH longer, woulda been epic I think.

Similar to chefboi's idea, fill the tub up with water, get as much air into your waders as possible, cinch it tight as possible and stick it under water and squeeze. Any air bubbles should present themselves and it's how I would nail down any drysuit leaks.

as long as Machida can beat Jones, I'll be happy.
