All I would need if I moved outta the horseshoe, is a Tims, A Cdn Tire, Home Depot or Lowes, a really good sushi resto and hi speed. Not asking for much you see

Ok that's just rubbing it in now Let's see, 10 minute walk vs couple of hours drive... You guys are SO lucky I'm pretty envious lol

Thanks for the info on that ec, didn't know michelin had a hand in the pie. Went with the Longtrails so it was good to see your thoughts on them. Are you running BF as well ? Hey craig, don't make it across the border often but not surprised they're cheaper down there. Thanks again for the help, will ask for more help when I win the big one and need go decide on a new boat

Thanks Tybo, That's a great resource for comparisons and user reviews.

Back again with another question NF related. Need to get new tires for the van and looking at either Uniroyal Laredos or BF Goodrich Long Trails. Samo samo or does one have the edge. Have Geolander H/T now (had sidewall blowout on rear) but they're outta stock for who knows how long. Use is campervan, hauling small utility trailer, 85% paved, 15% dirt. Sizing is the problem as 215/75.15 tires are not the flavour any more. Seems everyone is going 17" and up. thanks again Freddy

SCRATCH THE REES ST GARDINER SUGGESTION. That'll put you into traffic headed for the York/Bay/Yonge exits. A nice driver may let you in but don't count on it, we're talking Toronto after all.

Ok, if it were me, I'd opt for the southern route to Main and Danforth. The top end leaves very little Plan B. Check CP 24 or 680 news for traffic updates. So I might go 427 south and take Gardiner east but get OFF at the Lakeshore /Gardiner split ! Lakeshore may be slowish but you can find other routes in from there. You *could* take lakeshore all the way across and work your way up the danforth and main a number of ways. Personally, I'd consider getting back on the Gardiner at Rees (Rogers Centre/Skydome)so you can bypass downtown and head east till the gardiner dumps you at carlaw. If the 427 is pooched, take kipling or islington down and then you could go queensway or lakeshore into the city. I realize they're not highways but the chances of getting stuck in traffic and not moving are less than the Gardiner. take a look at mapquest.ca and you can use that to plot a route or routes. good luck and hopefully traffic will be lighter since it's a friday. if you have an iPhone, the map app is great since it shows traffic conditions as well. regardless, I think getting into town earlier than 7:30, if you can, would be good. ps-bigmac's idea is also worth considering as it just means you find a seat at the start of the line and head east. simplest really.

401to DVP and south is going to be a cluster..*bucket*. Gardiner eastbound can be bad as well. Lemme look at a map and see what I would do, Is there any chance of getting to your dad's place earlier , just to be safe ? and sorry to hear about your mom and I hope your dad can heal. My dad had a rough time when my mom went as well.

I heard some got there even earlier but still, 4 am ? I love a sale but not sure I would camp out that early for it on the hopes I get to the reels first.

thanks KF, I usually run ultralight setup alongside the regular spinning outfit with a fly rod thrown in now and then but now understand the crowded quiver/ 20 rods rationale I'm not much for jigging so will go for moderate and maybe med or med+ and maybe get something faster down the road if I feel like parking and twitching. Guess this is similar to my obsession with tents and cameras lol

Thanks guys ! How far back does the E series go or is the D the precursor to the E ? Guess I can go take a look at it and see how it looks IRL and see how smooth it is. Woulda gone to Gagnons for their sale but figured the Curados would be gone as soon as the doors opened. Another question, looking to finally get a baitcast setup (yeah I know...) , any recommendations on rods if I'm targeting pike, bass and walleye ? thanks again !

Hi All, I'm looking at maybe picking up a used left handed Curado 201 that's about 8 years old in good shape and not used that much. With these scant bits of info, what might a realistic price be for this reel ? Was there anything unique about this generation that makes them worthy or is it best to open the wallet and get a new Chronarch ? Was considering a Revo SX but they're a bit heavier. Ebay seems to have dried up a lot re:Green Curados. tia WB

As much as I would love to do something very juvenile and worthy of their utter foolishness, I like this idea from BB. That or get a trail cam to catch them dumping and post prints everywhere, maybe put one of those non identifying black strips across their eyes Wonder if video of them catching and keeping OOS fish would be good enough for the MNR or CO's ? -
that is one humongous belly in the first photo. hell they're all fat my mom hates me, going to taste mighty fine

that's a great link for boat mods ! will hafta bookmark that one.

NEED SOME HELP TO MAKE MY BOAT GO FASTER!! pls help!
woodenboater replied to Jackie's topic in General Discussion
Just curious as I've never run a boat that fast and it'd probably scare the beejeebus outta me but I'm wondering, does the jack plate result in any loss of energy/force transmission since the motor isn't bolted 'directly' to the transom ? Is it sponging any push resulting in less efficient use of rpm etc ? Sorry if this question doesn't make sense. I'm just a low horse tiller guy, until I win the lottery -
I fully expect to see photos of tin cans bouncing off the roostertail as you motor off into the sunset Congrats !

What I currently use is a Panasonic LX3. Reason are: compact; wide angle lens (24mm equivalent and main reason I got the camera); does 16:9 video (720p HD). Newer model is LX5 and is wide angle as well but longer on the tele end.
