Spooling up Power Pro 30 on the new Cuarado

A piece of cloth bandage would do as well. -
Spooling up Power Pro 30 on the new Cuarado

Power Pro should have included a strip of foam backers to prevent slip while loading line. Or you could use couple of wraps of mono as well as tape as suggested above. -
Do you use a transom saver/outboard motor support?
woodenboater replied to hooked!'s topic in General Discussion
Kinda related. Does anyone make one that has a built in shock absorber/spring system ? Swallow the hits but keep the stress off the back. or could it be an easy shadetree build ? -
Cookslavs Specktacular 2012 Algonquin report
woodenboater replied to Cookslav's topic in General Discussion
Terrific report and pictures ! Those are some beautiful trout you guys got into the canoes ! Glad to read your friends just had a close call and your bud's lure was safe Haven't been to the Park for spring trips in a few years and after reading the reports here, really miss them. -
:thumbsup_anim: Benefits are going to be a huge...benefit...for a growing family. This will also make your time on the water, more meaningful. Congratulations !

@CPH, they should have offered a store credit at least since it was a branded product you were returning. Haven't had any bad experiences at BP myself other than staff who weren't up on product knowledge and fishing counter staff who couldn't be bothered to help a customer. Guys in the fly fishing dept are great though !

Yeah, that bites. Still could work out but anniversaries area funny thing. Personally, #9 was not a big deal for my wife and I, 10 was more important. If they don't stay out too late, boogying at 2 or 3 is still possible, unless he has to pack. Maybe it's time for him to lay down a guilt trip...

If you're considering a crack of dawn departure on Sat anyways., she can drop him off at your place Friday night after they celebrate then either haul ass asap or wait till first light. Not sure how you're losing a day if Sat was an option but hopefully it'll work out and you'll be on the blacktop as planned !

regardless of the holder, I think if you did hook a musky, you'd probably be taken on a scenic cruise of the Trent with said musky pulling your canoe which ever way it so chose
-
Still suggest something water and shock proof. Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic would be my choices but I'm partial to Nikon since I've been using them since high school ie-pre disco era
-
yep, clamp and tube are gonna pivot in the direction of fish and rod will say bye bye. ymmv. esp on the chance you hook a musky still better to be on the water than not
-
Nice musky. It's a great waterway top to bottom !

This is probably my next camera for canoe tripping and fishing. Nikon Coolpix AW100 After reading a thread and seeing some video here, the GoPro Hero2 is also now on my must look at it list. Not a point and shoot but shoots pretty amazing video so may not be as versatile. I guess much will depend on how much reach you think you'll need and whether something water and shock proof is a priority for you (it is for me). ymmv

Dammit Jamie, that's not what I want t hear Will hafta see how much the wifi costs I guess
-
That wifi unit sounds very sweet and will probably cost the same. The more I see videos here taken with the camera, the more I want to get one of these vs a waterproof p&s. How do the stills look from the Hero2 and are people happy with the different FOV (I presume it's a software crop) ?

great news and even better, you don't have to fork over some major coin for a new ob !

Boat is delayed from Dealer... I complained !!
woodenboater replied to cityfisher's topic in General Discussion
Not in the market for a new boat yet but if my boat encountered delays in delivery, I would appreciate, tremendously, updates from the dealer as to delays etc.. This act alone will save a ton of aggro and leave everyone happy (for the most part). Customers shouldn't have to be the ones requesting timelines imo. I know shops can be busy but someone should be in charge of customer satisfaction from start of order to delivery of product. and Oryx is right. We don't often hear the good stories re:buyer experiences, as much as the unhappy ones and this is understandable if not fair. Hope you get your boat soon and get the deck coated in slimy goodness. (I woulda stayed with the 90 4 stroke as well) -
The Long And Winding Road To Back Country Brook Trout
woodenboater replied to solopaddler's topic in General Discussion
naw, I thought it had that 'camera got dumped in the river while running from canis lupus and this is what I recovered' kinda vibe which is what I guess you were aiming for ? -
The Long And Winding Road To Back Country Brook Trout

one word: EPIC !! great video journal Mike, I'm sure you're poring over topos looking for alternate routes into this body of weater that involves, um, less fording of rivers curious-during the wolf stalk, what happened to the video ? -
what Djeep said. The marked fence is where the waterfront trail turns north.
-
sorry to hear about the seat mount. They better make it right and then some ! looking forward to the pics
-
Great job on helping out there, esp the rafters who hit the strainer. Those things scare the beejeebus outta me and it's always what's under the surface and out of sight, that keeps paddlers on their toes.

Yup, other sites I belong to 'suffer' the same issues of the disproportionate ratio between the number of members and the numbers who actually contribute. Not much can be done about this from what I've learned as a member and admin of another site. We've talked about time caps on members in that if they didn't have x number of posts within a time period, they were sent a reminder and if no progress, their membership spiked. That never went anywhere and we just accepted it for what it was. That would would have hurt good members who gave much of their knowledge to those asking, just not online. All one can do is appreciate those (and there are many here) who post trip reports or reviews, and thusly, make this place the great site, and resource, that it is. There are always going to be the givers and unfortunately, the takers.

Great video and the musky was just so calm the whole time ! A very "don't mind me while I grab some lunch off your stringer' kind of attitude lol. I couldn't quite tell however, but did the musky finally let go or did it swallow the walleye whole ?
