Couple get parasites in their feet in Carribean

I should not have looked at those photos while eating breakfast....ugh -
Mucho buckaroos but it does look like a fun way to burn some meat and prawn lol, if you're flush. The grill insert would work well on my Webers and could be one way to get around fire pit issues in the city. Put the kettle on short feet and it'd be a cozy fire in the backyard

I wonder if this is a water version of a senior who shouldn't be behind the wheel ?

nah, I'm from the city and *some* visitors tend to bring city attitudes to the country I have a acreage up north and the town vibes are not the same as the city from what I've learned over the years. When they head out for a weekend away, they forget that some people live there year round and often times treat it as the time to get smashed, same thing one sees in provincial parks. so maybe riff raff is strong but citiot, as some call them, is just as bad. hope you see where I'm coming from Lew and meant no offense to the majority of city dwellers edit- also think the term riffraff has morphed over the years and is less loaded today and not meant to describe one who is disreputable.
-
I'd buy there in a heartbeat. Access to lots of water and close to Algonquin and other parks. Far enough away from big cities to keep riff raff down. If anyone is into whitewater paddling, the Madawaska is a stone's throw as is the Ottawa. Then there's the Wilno Tavern a short drive away. Perogies ! As others have alluded to, there's more to life than tight lines when buying a cottage. A diverse fishery is icing on the cake imo. good luck !

Looking for Winter Camping/Fishing Spot
woodenboater replied to Rudderless's topic in General Discussion
you'd be surprised that there will be a bunch of folks in Minnesota doing exactly this in the Boundary Waters. Of course they usually haul a canvas tent and stove and live in luxury -
most of my Jewish friends will be in Chinatown chowing down as they have since the dawn of time

again, this is what good customer service is. had a feeling they would do the right thing. the cost of the new clam will be easily recovered in good will and future sales. they understand and I'd be inclined to buy their product over others. happy staring down a hole Brian -

Overnight winter camping. Any advice helpful.

chicot (standing deadwood), be very careful of the rotted ones as they can and have fallen and killed loggers/people. If in doubt, tap the trunk and have a listen. -

I'd strongly suggest a good sled to haul gear vs backpack. If possible, go before hand to pack down a trail so it's a nice pull in to the site. and get a wood pile prepped and stacked so there's less work to do. For winter fires, I keep multiple means of starting. Magnesium and sparkers. Zippo lighter. Fire piston (when all else fails) and char cloth. and bring a spud for chopping the hole and testing ice. good luck and have a great time.. -
Holy JFC !!! Glad nothing came of it, that you know of, but I would have been beyond spooked and probably had an involuntary dump.

see my previous post. there's an option on that bar with the posting options . look for the three 'stack of books' (best way to describe it) choose the left one for left justified which places text at left and staggered right.
-
and in case anyone else is wondering, I think centre justified is default text formatting for posts. you can change it to left justified by selecting the icon that looks like a small pile of books (three piles to choose from haha) and fwiw, I prefer the light blue vs this green and brown skin
-
So couldn't access the site earlier today and eventually got onto the site but had to log in again. Now the skin I'm seeing is light blue and lighter colours overall. is it me or is this the new look OFC? Don't see a pulldown for different skin options. the banner is still green and gold coloured like the old style.

and people are putting in septics ? Legally ? with those conditions, if the price is right, I'd be throwing up a wall tent on a platform, similar size to the ones Lakair had. Don't get renewed, take the circus to another town. Too much downside for me. May be good pike lakes but that's not unique. btw, is the road ploughed in the winter ? Again, I suggest finding your own paradise and never worry about annual renewals
-
honestly, depending on how much the lease costs and the location (does it have killer views or near great fishing and hunting), I would think buying your own acreage will be better in the here and now and in the long run.master of your own domain so to speak. It will probably be cheaper as well imo
