  1. Thanks for the report! Great pics and I must admitt that it sure looks like fun to me! HH
  2. Does this mean a "Go Fish" card tournament is not a supported function? HH
  3. Well I just heard from my agent and the house has been removed from the market, the husband has bought out the wife! Oh well, there's plenty of houses out there! Thanks again to all! HH
  4. I use a four inch auger when I'm perch fishin on Cooks. They bore through ice easily, no matter what the thickness and is plenty of hole for perch. I don't think the size of the hole really matters to the fish. HH
  5. Thanks again everyone for your kind words of encouragement. We made our almost best offer last night, but we were rejected by one half of the owners. What I mean by this is as follows; We are dealing with a couple who are either separated or are in the process of splitting up. The husband wants to keep the house and buy his wife out, the wife simply wants out. The husband has a number set in his head and simply will not budge. The house has been on the market for the better part of 8 months, with only two offers, including mine, both rejected. We really had our hearts set on this house, but as it stands right now, our agent has suggested that even if we were to offer their price, it might not sell. We will find out today if the house is being pulled off the market as the vendor's agent is fed-up as well! There's a very slight chance that after their long chat last night, they may come to some kind of compromise, but I highly doubt it! It looks like it's back to searching and looking! Again, thanks for all your kind thoughts... and Gary, I'm with you 100% when it comes to getting out of the big city. HH
  6. Thanks for all the kind thoughts everyone! I'll update this as soon as I know more! Highland creek in my back yard... no excuse not take the kids down to the lake and start teaching them there is more to life than the big city offers! HH
  7. Hey Shad, I recognize that botton strucutre on the Brownie shot.... HH
  8. Nemo... yup! It's a two car garage and will hold my "new boat". HH
  9. Thanks Moe and Joey! A summer OFC pool party sounds like an awesome idea... and everyone could bring their rods, we could walk the 5 mins down to the lake and try for some big Lake O carp! HH
  10. I like to think of the ice as being the great equalizer. As I'm not fortunate enough to own a boat, I feel that the ice gives me the opportunity to fish virtually anywhere, especially places that are not accessible during the soft water season. That being said, you'll never see me out there when it's -20! HH
  11. Well, after scouring the east end of Scarborough for the last three weeks, my wife and I have finally settled on which new to us house we are going to offer out on! We will be making an offer this afternoon and hopefully, the vendor accepts it. It will be a real "culture shock" for us, as we have lived in the downtown core for 13 years, but our house has gotten too small, with the recent arrival of two kids. My hopefully new home has a few things I don't have now; -a drive way! -a 2 car garage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -3000 sq. ft, compared to 800! -a pool! I could go on... but I'm pretty nervous/excited/ worried/ well, you get the drift! Making a decision that will affect your life for the next 20-25 years is HUGE... but I know it's the right move! HH
  12. Maybe he wouldn't be so pi$$ed if they had taken the time to photoshop the background out! HH
  13. Now that's what I call a Walleye Chop! Great shots! I'm assuming that one would troll down wind in that? the run back up those waves though, would certainly separate the men from the boys! HH
  14. No problem Wayne... What really drives me nuts are all the retailers who display signs stating that they will not accept $50.00 or $100.00 bills. It is illegal for them to not accept legal tender. I have had more than one arguement with various retailers who insist that they can make such a decision legally. They can't! They must prove to me that the bill is not legal. And yah, any time your purchasing something with any kind of card, your displaying your personal information to whom ever the retailer wants to divulge that information to, probably for a fee. Let's not even get started on the "rewards programmes"!!! HH
  15. On the news today, just thought I'd bring it to the attention of all here... A hacker has apparently broken into the system of T J Maxx, which is also Winners and Home Sense. Folks who may have shopped there should take a very close look at their December bank and credit card statements, to ensure that they have not been taken by this low life. There's a lot to be said for paying in cash! HH
  16. Two words... Chow Dah! Sorry BBR, I had to! HH
  17. My best guess would be a voltage regulator problem... symptoms seem familiar to me in a past problem. HH
  18. FYI - my kids prefer the Tigger rod...something about bouncey, bouncey, bounce, if I recall correctly! HH
  19. Saw that last week, it's great! I would have posted it here then, but feared a reprisal... Thanks for the laugh! HH
  20. BUMP!!!!!
  21. Thanks to all who chimed in, I appreciate your input. I've been in my house for thirteen years, it has doubled in value in that time. It's simply too small now that we have two kids. I know that we can't afford a four bedroom house in the core, atleast not in a neighbourhood I'd be comfortable letting kids play in! As I work downtown, I currenty ride the TTC to work. I am prepared to use the GO train and understand that I will be losing hours out of my day. I hope that my new neighbourhood, where ever it will be, will have as wonderful friends as I'm fortunate enough to have now. Again, thanks for your input. HH
  22. I've said it once and I'll say it again... Mom raised a tall boy, not a bright one! Thanks FnS! HH
  23. If you really want to see government action at it's finest... submitt a request for a social insurance card for a new born, pay the fee and wait for it to arrive. That's a long drawn out process in it's self... now, wait a year and still no card then try and get somebody... anybody to re-issue a card lost somewhere between the government and your mail box. I couldn't believe how many letters/phone calls/emails etc... it took to finaly get the card. In total, we ended up waiting 18 months for my daughter's card. HH
  24. I have just received a confirmation from FishnSled that he and I are confirmed for a camp site for the GTG! Woo whooo! Lookin forward to meeting more ofncers and gettin out on the water again! HH
  25. I agree Knotaclue, you do get back what you put out with neighbours. That's why my current neighbours and my family have such a fantastic relationship. We share our joys and our pains, our food and our homes. I've spoken to a few people who have made the move out. I know there is no black or white answer to this question. Some I have talked to have said that they found the people in the burds to be less friendly than those downtown, while others the opposite. Again, I know no one is going to be able to definatively say which is best, I'm only hoping to hear about people's experiences. Thanks again... HH
