Wow! I had no idea Sharks could/would do that! Talk about impressive! To see an animal that big flying out of the water like that was jaw dropping! Thanks for posting that Marc, I really enjoyed it! Flipper pie anyone? HH

I was watching the CBC last night and one of the comments I heard was specifically directed at gas prices in Ontario. They claimed that Ontario has the lowest gas prices in the counrty and that the prices we are seeing today, in the .95 to $1.00 /ltr. range, are equal to what the rest of the country is paying every day. The lower prices we had been seeing was the result of competition in the GTA. They also suggested that it will take some time, before there will be any reduction in price at the pumps. It will take "market share" price wars to get the price to dip again. I guess that means that we'll be paying through the nose for a while folks! HH

Just to clear the air a bit... the "greatness" aspect of the title was intended to be tongue in cheek! It's all perspective! I'm a little surprised that some have over analyized this, ok, may not that surpirsed. Thanks to all who have responded, it's been a very interesting read... and Davis, I'm sure your brush with greatness, stands out among the others! Best wishes to you and your family and a speedy recovery! HH

Thanks Spoonman! I really enjoyed that. Actually, I enjoyed it so much, I didn't even notice the music (I hate U2!) but the pics rocked! Thanks for taking the time! HH

Terry, I agree whole heartedly! The big problem is that due to the free trade agreement, we must ship oil to the States! It is clearly stated in the agreement. We can get stooped for our soft lumber, beef etc... but we must keep the oil flowing. Until that is addressed, we will continue to pay! There was a line up this morning at a local independant station, 4 cars deep at every enterance. Price was $.99.9 /ltr and they couldn't sell it fast enough! HH

Well, as the fishing reports have begun to dwindle and cabin fever begins to set in for another week, I thought I'd start this topic, to get everyone's mind off of the weather and their dreaming of soft water! Very much like David Lettermans' comedy bit, tell us who you have met in your life, that's famous/infamous etc... I'll start! Back in the mid 90's, I was fortunate enough to secure some gold tickets to a Leaf game, vs the Rangers (MLG). We were three rows above ice level in the corner and noticed that there were quite a number of empty seats to the left of us. Suddenly, there was a commotion in the stands and who comes walking over and sits right next to me?.... Goldie Hawn, her husband Kurt Russell and four or five of their kids. Man, is that ever a fine lookin woman! She was very friendly, not aloof and very genuine! Kurt would have to stand on a phone book to look Roy in the eye! Leafs won the game! My second brush came at Toronto airport, when I was picking my F-in-law up from a trip down south. I noticed a guy drop his pen as he was exiting customs, so I picked it up, called to him and he turned around. It was Donnie Osmond, he was in town for Joseph and the .... something or other! He looked put off initially, thought I was an autogragh hound, then seemed disappointed as I simply returned the pen and walked away! I know I missed the chance of a life time... but it just wasn't my life time goal! LOL Tell us about your brush, fishing or non fishing! HH

Actually, the easiest and fasted way to clean any panfish is this; take them to a fish processor and have them clean them for you! You can find many of them located at most Ports on Erie, they'll clean them for yah, while you clean out a bottle of beer or two waiting! No muss, no fuss! HH

I have a really big BBQ!!!! HH

Tonyb is better lookin! HH

The only way to ensure that you don't have hours of cleaning ahead of you is to let them all go! As far as speeding up the process, I'd reccomend scaling them and then filleting them and leaving the skin on. It's faster and the skin gives the meat a little more flavour. HH

BTW -Terry, I'm following someone else next year! HH

Gerritt, great to finally meet you! Actually, really great to see some now familiar faces, meet some new folks and all in all, laugh the morning away! Someone mentioned, when we were packing up, how quickly the morning went by! Time does fly when your having fun and it goes by even faster when your laughing! Many thanks to all who worked so hard to put such a fantastic day together for us! Big Clff, those sausages were awesome! Already lookin forward to the Lakair GTG! I know we'll get more fish! HH

Fishing for Tyler Simcoe map request?

Well, I've been in training for this event since early in the new year. I'll have my jogging suit on underneath my float suit, so if Terry does bring his ATV out, I can at least run for a while, trying to stick to him like glue! HH -
As already mentioned, the stainless has a few up sides. The down side, you'll be taking your prop off every time you park your trailored boat, for fear of someone stealing it! The other option is to sleep under yer boat! HH

I'm heading out of downtown/east end of Toronto to the GTG, anticipating arriving at around 6:30am. I have an open seat for the ride up and back for anyone who needs one. I don't expect any re-imbursment, just offering someone without wheels, a ride up. PM me if your interested! HH

It seems to me that a Lead Core set up would be the best of all worlds for your application... then, you could run just about any crank you want, at the desired depth. Also, don't forget about Offshore's snap weight system as another alternative. For cranks, try; Wally Divers, LJ Power Dives, Manns Stretch 20, HotnTot, any deep diving Rap ... HH

Jsut a suggestion re the HP camera. Have you tried removing the batteries and letting it sit for about 1/2 an hour, then reloading the batteries and starting up? It should then default to brand new/initial status. I had a similar problem with my Nikon point and shoot, called Nikon and that was their suggestion... and it worked. Hope this helps? HH

For that time of year, I would recommend fishing Big Bay and staying right in Belleville. I'd search out areas that have ready access to deep water, such as the mouths of some of the larger bays. These bays will heat up faster than the big body areas and you will find the eyes and pike are staging in and around these bay mouths, feeding on minnows and perch. There are plenty of places that will provide you with accomadation, including docking facilities and if your right in Belleville, there's plenty of places to eat. HH

Doh! Sorry to hear that Wayne... looks like mother nature forgot her sense of humour! As already mentioned, just really glad no one was standing near it when it came down! A good opportunity for an "inventory check!" HH
