  1. Nice new vehicle! My Dad bought one last year, drove it to the East Coast and back and enjoyed the vehicle. One thing he did notice, going from a pick up (GM I think) was that the gas mileage on the Escape wasn't much better than the pick-up, but the Escape is much more comfortable to drive and own. HH
  2. Other don'ts to remember; -don't store VCR tapes on your tv or near/on your speakers - you will lose info off the tape from the magnetic field created by the tv/speaker magnets -try not to drop VCR tapes... could also cause drop outs on the tape -don't store magnets near your computer/cell phone etc.. will definately mess up your stuff! HH
  3. LOL Terry! "grabbed it by the Williams Wobbler"!!! HH
  4. It looks like he's doing the pee pee dance! HH
  5. Dirty Snowshoe recipe; 1 part Jack Daniels 1 part Peppermint Schnapps ice, stir and enjoy!!! Darn, different type of snow shoe! HH
  6. Can you imagine how many army guys it would take for Toronto to deal with 64 cm!!!??!!?? LOL! Maybe we should send Mel Lastman to the London area to help out!!! HH
  7. Very cool shots!!! I spoke with my Dad last night, he lives in Komoka, just west of London. He's been shovelling for two days, luckily he has a good snow blower! Look out Kitchener area as it looks like it's moved over you guys! HH
  8. Born and raised in London Ontario, lived there until I was 22, then out "on the road" for a year, living outta cheap hotels and a cube van, playing music in some of Ontario's finest drinking establishments! Moved to Toronto 22 years ago and been living in, and hating, the Beach area of Toronto since. Will be moving in the next 6-12 months, probably east, into Scarberia/Pickering area, although, I would prefer to live in the Perterborough area and far away from the "arm-pit" that is Toronto! Unfortunately, my work requires me to be reasonably close to the hairy sidewalks of downtown T.O.! HH
  9. Thanks for the update folks... I'm very much interested in any and all reports regarding the status of the Q and it's availabilty for fishing opportunities! Please, keep them coming! HH
  10. I bought a couple of the Okuma Convector reels this year, moving away from the Diawa Sealines, but only based on price! I like the Convectors mostly because of the big handle and turning radious on these reels, makes bringing in boards with large cranks a little easier than with the small handle/radius Sealines. Outside of a few cranks, a couple of storage boxes for my large cranks, that's about it! HH
  11. Maybe we should bring back Dano's "Charlotte" and put bells on her as she does her Xmas wiggle! That would get my Xmas spirit going!!! HH
  12. Thanks so much I.F! Much appreciated! I guess I'm not as inept as I thought! HH
  13. Here's a link to a story outta the U.K. about a carp angler who caught the same fish, twice, a year apart and re-setting his own record! http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2006560230,00.html (I'm technically challenged, so just copy the link... enjoy!) HH
  14. Cute Kitty! Now, here's what you need to do... Grab you flippin stick, tie on a little pouch with catnip and practise your flippin techniques this winter on that little one! You'll both enjoy the cold weather a little more! HH
  15. I ran one of the new large one's at the Quinte GTG, probably pulled it around for about an hour... not a sniff!(mind you, we didn't get anything on the other baits we were running at the time either I'd be interested in what the dive curve on that bait might be... I ran it with about 150 -200 ft of line out, on my outside planer board. Pulls about the same as a Mann's Stretch 25. HH
  16. Thanks to all who responded with some really solid advice! Much appreciated... the silly thing worked just fine again this morning (thank goddness!). I have to take it in for it's 150k Vortec tune-up very soon, so, I'll have them look at it then. I'd take a stab at it myself, but for a coupla reasons; a) I park my truck on the street and don't really like the idea of working out in the cold/wind, unless I'm fishin b)it would have to be a weekend, as by the time I get home from work... it's flippin dark! c)I have enough mechanical knowledge to really screw something like this up!LOL Again, thanks to all! HH
  17. I was turned on to Okuma by Gman a few months back... picked up two this fall and have no complaints at all! I really like the big handle and how easy it is to crank in large deep diving cranks. HH
  18. Aplumma, I tried that last night. I turned on the wipers, heard the motor turning and got out of the truck and wiggled the wiper arms back and forth. They were very solid with little or no play in them. Your suggestion re the motors gears sound logical... but I can't understand why they worked the next day if there's a bad spot on the gear or why a "good" spot on the gear didn't catch last night? I'm confused? HH
  19. Hey Raf, no they seem to be very solid and un-moveable. I to thought it might be the linkage, but if it was the linkage, I thought that it wouldn't be intermittent as well. I'm sure the motor is working, I can hear it! Also, failed to mention that I had the switch (on the turn signal) replaced about a year ago, so I'm pretty sure it's not that. Thanks , HH Anyone else?
  20. Got a message from a friend of yours Rich... apparently they are feeling shunned and have moved on to greener pastures... signed, WGSP!
  21. The windshield wipers on my 96 Jimmy have been playing games with me lately. They some times work and other times when I turn them on, I hear the motor working, but the wipers don't move. I've tried given them a yank, but that doesn't work either. An example; I went out last night, just a light mist on the windshield. Tried the wipers, no go (heard the noise thought). This morning, started up the truck and turned on the wipers and away they go! Now, I like to think of myself as a fairly adventurous guy, but I really need more consistant wipers, especially with winter coming. Anyone have any suggestions for me? With my luck, I'll take it in to get looked at and the darn things will be working fine! Thanks in advance. HH
  22. Praying to the weather gods to keep Quinte free of ice until atleast January (long term forecast for Southern Ontario is calling for a warming trend in about a week's time. ) Also, coming up with valid reasons not to go ice fishing when it's really cold and entertaing the family! HH
  23. That should open up some space on Adolphus for sure!!! Thanks for posting! If you are still going to venture down there this weekend... don't forget to bring the; Kitty littler for the ramp Lotsa warm clothes Many pairs of gloves And a shovel, for the boat and the ramp! (not to mention gravol) LOL HH
  24. Great pics and report! I can't believe how calm Quinte has been in the last few weeks! It looks like a mill pond in the background of those shots. Wondering if you happen to recall the water temp when you were there? Thanks, HH
  25. Lookin forward to a few more trips to BoQ in the coming weeks and hoping the ice holds off there until january! Let the snow fly, the freezing rain, what ever, as long as the "Q" dosen't freeze! It's only now, beginning to get "good"! HH
