  1. Well, I had a few moments to peruse it last night and found it to be very nicely laid out, nice wildlife shots and I thank the folks that sent it to me as I now have more material in my reading room. Thanks again! HH
  2. Well done and congrats on another limit in the boat! HH
  3. CLAMP-IT!!!!!!! LOL I'm sure that "Jed" will have something to say about this and I agree with Roy, definitely a family heirloom. HH
  4. That's awe full news Gary. I was fortunate enough to have met Amy, all be it very briefly and can attest to her not only being a beautiful dog, but quite obviously a very dear companion to you. You have my heartfelt sympathies... it will be a tough go, but remember those good times. HH
  5. PM me Stoty... I have two full time and one contract position available ... downtown. HH
  6. Then only thing worse than a thief is more than one thief! The worst of the worst in my estimation... sorry for your loss. HH
  7. Two tips to help things out... 1. DUCT TAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can never have enough of that stuff around - if the don't find ya handsome, they should at least find ya handy! 2. Put your cooler in your freezer the night before you leave... your ice will last 2-3 times as long as it won't be used up cooling off the cooler! Have a blast folks! I wish I could come, but family life and family tickets to "Walking with dinosaur's" on Saturday have put the ix nay on any travel! HH
  8. Got mine yesterday and asked my wife why she would order me a Bass Magazine... the only Bass I want to hold has four strings and a lowest frequency of 42 hz! Seriously... I have no idea how I got it, but I do! HH
  9. Years ago I was Carp fishing and hooked a small Perch. Once I got it in, I noticed there was some mono sticking out of it's bottom... ever the curious one and half expecting it to be like the draw string on a kids toy, I gave 'er a yank... and slowly I pulled a half rusted hook out the Perches' rear end! No idea how long it was in there, but the Perch seemed ok and there was nothing else lodged in it's mouth, that I can recall... I think I'm wit the rest here and suggest that the probably don't rust out, most of the time... unless it's a PERCH! HH
  10. Great report! thanks for taking the time... fantastic read... oozing with jealousy and un-able to type any more! HH
  11. Congrats! Quite an accomplishment given todays marriage success rate... a fine lookin family I'm sure your proud of! Best wishes and fishes HH
  12. Just pretend you are at the BOQ and all will be well! HH
  13. I find people jobs for a living! My best advice to you is to find something that you really enjoy and stick with it! You are young enough to be able to make some mistakes, without it affecting your "career". Money should not be an object of concern at this time, because if you don't like what your doing, the money will never be enough... conversely, if you love what you do, the money will not matter. One last consideration... pick a field or industry that has longevity... working in the automotive industry might not be the best long term decision! HH Ps... I always remember something my mom told me many years ago... work with your brain, not your back... the brain lasts longer!
  14. That was a fun read... thanks for that and yes, Bill is mature beyond his years and a shining example of what today's youth should be like! Good on yah Bill and keep at it John... maybe marshmellows would have helped! LOL HH
  15. Congrats on the haul! It appears as though I'm getting a new power washer as mine has bit the biscuit, so to speak... I wonder it it will help me out with my fishin issues?! HH
  16. The splash well works very well based on my experience (with my wife). Gernerally though, when I take my wife fishing with me, she prefers to be dropped off on an island, to sun bathe and swim, so that takes care of that... but she will also jump up on shore and hide behind a tree... she won't get in a boat outside of the summer months so the fall and spring weather don't come into play. HH
  17. Thanks All! I'm doing some investigating! HH
  18. http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/warnings/warnings_e.html Be sure to take care and cover should Momma Nature pick your spot on the planet to whack the crap out of.... HH
  19. Thanks guys.... keep 'em coming! HH
  20. Hey Guys/gals! I have finally been able to clear up some time in August, for a one week family vacation to somewhere in our fine province! We have two young'ins, 6 and 4 and my wife and I are looking for a kid friendly place, within 3-4 hours of Toronto, that will be accommodating to my kids needs, (beach, dock etc...) and my desire to get them out in a boat, catch pan fish, swim etc... . This will be our first family trip to "the north" as we have historically played at the beach on Lake Huron. I could use some suggestions, from those of you who have been or are currently in the same boat as me... not looking for really high end, just your typical cottage, where I won't have to worry too much about an unforgiving shore line, where the kids may get hurt, playing. I am open to any and all suggestions and appreciate you time spent in responding! HH
  21. Let me guess, you caught that on the first cast!LOL Nice slab brother... funny how my phone didn't ring on Saturday morning! I'll talk to yah before you leave Will... HH
  22. I had a blast as usual Will and I'm lookin forward to doing it again! Real soon! HH
  23. Garry is very correct as far as I can tell... another theory that I've been working with is as follows; Fish expell a great deal of energy when they chase food and they must make up their mind very quickly, if the amount of energy they require to catch a meal, is more than they will get back consuming the food. An easy mark is almost always going to get interest... I equate it to some degree, to a lesson I learned at Wild Cat World in Orno... the keeper there told me that a tiger will almost never attack if it's quarry if it is facing them... they have concerns that their prey could cause them more damage then the resulting meal is worth to them... he showed us by turning his back on the tigers (he had a fence between him and the big cats) and they literally jumped at him, the moment his back was turned... as soon as he turned back toward them, they backed off... I think that nature has instilled these survival techniques on many of it's citizens, fish included. HH
  24. Thanks for the report... nice read there... may I suggest trolling one of these to get you more Pickereyes this year? http://www.rapala.com/products/luresdetail...Both&live=1 A long cast and about 1.5 miles an hour should net you some fish... just be sure to use the smaller version in the spring and get bigger as the season rolls along! Good luck! HH
