  1. Thanks Mike! Let me know how yaou make out!... but I don't think thye have any either! Joe
  2. Yah Kirk, I have a 6 foot Bogan for my kids, but it simply won't stand up to anything that is not flat for it to ride on. It flexes too much and I end up picking my stuff up all the time. It seems like I am not the only one to have challenges here... I'm in good company! Let's see how long it takes to get a call from the store to tell me it has come in. According to the Customer Service person I was talking to, the computer indicates whether or not a product can be rain checked and ordered. Again, the customer service person told me it would not be a problem to order it and I should get a call by the end of January.... I'll update this thread when I hear! HH
  3. Well, I noticed that the annual CTC icefishing sale was happening again! For the last four years, I have been trying to buy the ice fishing "sled" from CTC and for four years I have been stymied! Now, I know that we are not talking about a lot of money, reg. price is $40.00 and it's on sale this week for $20.00. So I toddled off to my local CTC, rounded up one of the young fellas who work there and asked where I could find the ice fishing sled they have on sale. He tells me they don't have it. I asked if he ever had any, he says no, but he could check the computer for me to see if any other stores "near by" had it... no, none in stock! Now I have gone to customer service and obtained a rain check (20 minute wait at customer service) and they tell me it will be ordered and available to me by the end of January! Let's hope that this is the end of my 4 year quest for a new ice fishing sled. Why advertise a product that obviously they had no intention of stocking. I wonder how many each store got and I wonder how many out-fitters bought up every one at the store!? There, I almost feel better now! LOL HH
  4. Mmmmm... wings in their natural state.... and biggins at that! HH

  6. Seems to me buddy needs a GPS as he is just driving around in circles!!!!! HH
  7. Solo, I see your point. I don't agree 100%, but I find that I don't agree 100% with most people, most of the time. HH
  8. Once again, Tennesee Guy has hit the nail on the head! HH
  9. Thanks everyone! HH
  10. Thanks folks, much appreciated! Wayne, I will not be paying for a blanket in "Hallebuttocks" this time around! Not doing it for a living (LMAO), just for the fun of it and to get out of the house from time to time... HH
  11. Thanks Raf and Fang... I'm aware of Youtube, however in an effort to more quickly learn the songs, I like to listen to them on my MP3 player on the Go Train, to become more "imtimate" with the song. And watching someone else play the part on Youtube is "cheating", as far as I'm concerned! LOL I guess I'm old school, having spent a good part of my youth learning songs for the record and continually moving that stylus back and forth! HH
  12. Hey folks, I have recently joined a band and as a result, I am learning to play many tunes, old and new. I really don't want to buy CD's for just one song, so I was hoping for some suggestions as to what sites you use to down load music. I have given Lime Wire a go and frankly, if I wanted to down load Porn, I'd go to a porn site!!!! Hoping you folks can help me out! Thanks in advance! HH
  13. A fine tribute to a fine man... you have my thoughts and prayers. HH
  14. Sending good thoughts and prayers you way... I don't want to imagine what your family is going through... I'm not tough enough. HH
  15. Believe us when we tell you to get the best boot you can. Nothing will cut yer day short, like cold feet! Solo, those boots look good, have you used them ice fishin? I ask because many boots will handle just walkin around on the ice, but if yer using a power auger, you NEED waterproof as you will get a shower pulling the auger up the hole. I found out on Friday that my 15 year old boots have passed their point of usefullness! I've changed the liner, but they still won't keep me warm! I'll have to take a good look at the one's Solo posted! To the O.P. - I don't know how they rate boots as far as temperature ratings go, but minus 100C is the MINIMUM I would consider. HH
  16. I guess he couldn't "Dodge" the thin sections! My bad, it's a Ford! HH
  17. Yup, what Raf said... with emphisis on the boots! HH
  18. Mark's Work Warehouse has everything you'll need. Just be sure to get boots that are over kill based on temperature. You should be looking at boots that are rated to atleast minus 100. Can't help with the BnB thing, Cooks is only 45 minutes from Toronto, so staying there is not something I have done. HH
  19. Nice pics! Apparently you attended Lew's tutorial on: a) how to catch skis how to smile for the camera! Thanks for posting! HH
  20. Congrats! Great pics and life will NEVER be the same! HH
  21. Thanks for the encouragement re conditions earlier in the week Terry, I was thinkin no way to get out earlier, but you were right, the ice was solid and the bite ended up being pretty good. HH
  22. Hit Cooks Bay yesterday, walking out from Keswick. Found 5 inches of good black ice and was jiggn to beat the band by 7:30am. Between my buddy and I we caught a total of around 200 Perch, mostly dinks and ended up taking home around 25. Most caught were in the 5-7 inch range, with a few genuine keeps. Buddy had the hot spot, 6 feet way from me, had non stop action in one hole for almost two hours. He'd drop the jiggin Rap to the bottom, turn over his bail and set the hook... they were all ready on the line. Hot bait was fire tiger Jiggin Rap with either a Power Maggot or a Luhr Jensen size 000 Jensenegg (plastic egg) on the bottom treble. Blue and silver Rap was also working well as well as a Swedish Pimple drop rig with a power maggot. It was a blast to get out on the ice again, but when everything slowed down, except the wind, at around noon, we hit the road. We could see guys fishing all over Cooks Bay, some as far up as Roches. Ice seems to be pretty good and still growing. Sorry, no pics, just thought I'd let everyone know about conditions. HH
  23. Rich, try this... use a Swedish Pimple, remove the hook and use a short lead, three inches tied to a small jig, with a power maggot. Drop it into the mud bottom and stir it up. then lift the rig slightly off the bottom and hold it still. It's a killer set up for Cooks! HH
  24. Thanks for the update Terry... still hoping to get out on Firday for some Perchies... I asume that ice was made last night and one can stroll out with caution? thanks, HH
  25. Well, that shoots Friday's plans all to H E double hockey sticks! Thanks for the heads up Terry, the Perch will live another day... and so will I! HH
