I just give the phone to my 5 year old, she loves to talk. HH -
In fact, the gloves were originally brought up to deal with the "reach around" I was told to be aware of... the watermelon spray was simply a very nice touch! The full poly pink suit was delayed at the border!!!! Bernie, same rule holds true, whether your on Temagami or Nip! Except the cook doesn't clean! HH

Raf, you owe me a new keyboard!!!! Oh, the pain, the pain!!! HH

Joey, if your doctor has any influence at the hospital, they can get you in faster. Have them call the hospital and let them know that you would be willing to come in for the scan ANYTIME! Most of these facilities are not being used after regular hours. They do have a tech on hand to deal with any emergency that arises. They also have regular maintenance routines and if your Doctor has any pull, they can get you in any of these windows of opportunity. HH

Yah, I drive on the ice, when conditions allow. I stick to roads and last year, I learned a valuable lesson... don't follow Big Chevy on the ice! He may know where he's going, but I don't, so caution is the word. If I have even the slightest incliningthat it's not safe, I walk. It's pretty simple really and it comes down to common sense. Many folks would'nt have taken the trip I did on the weekend, a 25 mile run in very cold temps. Life has it gambles, you make your own choices when you are gambling. HH

It looks like the fish in Monty Python's Maeaning of Life, the part where they are in the restaurant, just before the stout fellow walks in and orders everything on the menu! HH

I fear that Nip and many other bodies of water are going to be seeing more and more pressure in these tough economic times. People have more "free" time on their hands and with money tight, high protein, cheap food will become scarce. HH

Wow, what a great report (Liek we expected anything else!) Good to meet you on Thursday... too bad you were time challenged. Glad the drive worked out for yah! HH

Well, I had a blast! I gotta thank Wayne and Terry, Wayne for the invite and hospitality for starters and Terry for carting my fat buttocks up hwy 11 and all over h.e.l.l.'s half acre of Temagami! You know, it's not often that you put your trust in someone you really don't know that well and I found it kinda funny, that I was able to do so with Terry. I'll explain. I don't have a snowmobile helmut, so Wanye lent me his old one. Well, one Satruday morning, when we headed out for the brookie lake, at minus 28, we managed to travel about 50 yards before my visor froze solid! I was completely blind for 25 miles! That my friends, is trust! An entire morning in the truck talking and you get to know a guy pretty good! I learned tons from these guys about fishin. Not a laker or whitie guy in my past, boy did I get schooled! Keith was fun to watch! Lloyd, same thing and pretty funny to! Dano, well what can yah say but... Dano, quick, look what time it is!!! Wayne, thanks for everything! Too many to mention. Now, the pics with the gloves... I'd heard that if you don't catch, you wash dishes, so I thought Terry might need them... turned out Terry and I did alot of dishes! LMAO! (Wayne got off on a technicality!) I am preparing myself for the pending pics! Gonna have speckles for supper on Firday!!!!! HH
-
Great job! Terry did as well as I did! LMAO! HH

My condolences on your loss. HH

Ah crap Terry, I thought we were fishin for Specks!!!! Truck is loaded, fishin gear, libation, snacks, clothes, coffee is already made and in the Thermos... just gotta find Terry's house in the morning... might get up half an hour before I go to bed just to be sure... See yah in the morning Terry! HH

The eyes don't count on your limit... the fish does though. In that case, you can have all the eyes you want, just don't go over the possession limit. HH
-
As I said Web-Fisherman, you must keep the fish (game fish) and not allow it to spoil on the ice. It will count as part of your daily limit. Should you talk some fish home, remove the eyes and then, at another date, use the eyes, you should be ok, as long as you leave a piece of skin on any fish you have at home inyour freezer. Should you not have any fish in your possession, then you should still be good. HH Ps... anyone have any musky eyes lying around! Lol!

I believe you can use it wallyboss. HH

Ok... we had a thread on this topic a number of years ago. I like the O.P., wasn't sure what the laws were, so I called the Ministry. You can use the eyes or parts of any fish, as long as it was legally caught and intended to be kept. This includes game fish. You are not allowed to use the whole fish (gamefish) but any part can be used as bait. Just be sure to have your "parts" fish in a state that it can be properly dressed, for consumption. That means that you could use pike eyes, whitie eyes, virtually any fish in season. Removing the eyes is pretty simple if you have the right tool. I have used a pencil, with a wire loop attached to the bottom. The key is to keep the eye in as good shape as possible, so it lasts longer on the hook. HH

Big players are buying fishing line companies

The merits of each line not with standing... I would expect the result of the mergers to be a rather substancial increase in prices soon. Lack of competition will result in price increases. HH -
A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO paperwork and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic. He went to the local technical college, signed up for classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time for the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks and completed the exam with tremendous skill. When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the instructor, saying, "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade." The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. "You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark. " This equaled an A. After a pause, the instructor added, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I've never seen done in my entire career. HH

Anyone here who hasn't left for the fishing show yet?

Joey, I had a similar experience as Lew, herniated disk...I think we had the same operation Lew! Paul's symptoms sound similar. I would not put heat on it until the swelling goes down... I would be iceing his back every two hours for 20 minutes with a nice bag of frozen peas! Exrays only show bones, not soft tissue, ie disc material... he may need a C.T. scan. The doctors will really give you the run around as they have a protocol for dealing with back problems, unfortunatly for those whose problems fall outside of the numbers, it can be a drawn out, painful process. I feel for him! Pm me if I can be of any help! HH PS... while he's lying around, I highly recommend a book called "The Back Doctor". One of the formost experts on backs in the world and he's from right here in Toronto! Started a place called, The Candian Back Institue I believe.
