I wish Sheri A speedy and successful recovery from both her physical and emotional injuries. It will take her some time to overcome bad road conditions. This is another reminder for all of us to slow down You will get there on time and if you don't, oh well, it's not the end of the world. Better alive than the alternative!

She can buy me for $500! I'm old and fat so I can be had for half as much.

Everyone up here said exactly the same thing, but look at what happened. Who knows, with the retooling and everything associated with the dollar coin maybe the econony will get a good swift kick in the ass and it will be saved! Come to think of it didn't many people say the same thing when we went metric??? The best thing about the Loonie was taking a pocketful of them down to the states and selling them to the Americans for dollar for dollar-even exchange! SO many people thought they were such a novelty and just had to get some!!

Great reply Snag!

Buffalo to Spring Fishing show shortest way?
pikehunter replied to fishbait's topic in General Discussion
Congrats!! Have a great time at the show. -
 Naw, they aren't getting ripped off, it's just the U.S/CDN exchange rate

Thanks for posting your pics Cliff. I was looking forward to them from your Myrtle Beach reports. I have heard that they serve dogfish on the menu in fish and chip shops in England, of course they probably don't call it dogfish though. Just something I read somewhere once.

Good report Wayne. Nice boat! It looks nice and comfortable, your going to have many happy days on the lake this season.

Is this boat modification possible?
pikehunter replied to sneak_e_pete's topic in General Discussion
keram... I like how your boat looks also. But I'm curious as to how comfortable the seating is as it doesn't look like that you now have very much space for your legs due to the low seat hight. It looks like my knees would be up in my chin if I was to sit in one of them. Only curious, not implying anything. I have swivel seats mounted on bench seats and no modified floor in my boat. I have thought about doing something, but I find the seat hight is just fine the way it is now. -
Is this boat modification possible?
pikehunter replied to sneak_e_pete's topic in General Discussion
Don't remove the mid seat. Doing this will weaken the hull structure. The factory made aluminum boats that are designed without the middle seat and have a floor built in also contain a structural aluminum support frame under the plywood to accomodate this modification. If you check out some of the boat manufacturers websites and look into the details of how they build their boats you will see this displayed. Good luck with your modifications and consider the idea that Keram advised. But remember plywood and framing will add weight and this will have to be taken into consideration when you load your boat with equipment, passengers and yourself. -
Congratulations! Wish you many happy hours on the water. Just leave some fish for the rest of us

I hope your house remains dry! We seem to have far too many of these occurances in the Hammer!

There ya go! The regs are so complicated even our consulting lawyer can't even get a grip on them! Hope the new revised regs are easier to decipher, whenever they get published. As for trying out glow sticks as bait, go ahead and try them. If you get busted then we know the answer.

I have also pondered the same thought Wayne. What about those lead laden batteries? I knew a guy a few years ago with a Toyota Hybrid car. When it was a couple of years old he had to replace the muffler. The system had to be bought from the dealer at a cost of 1200 bucks That alone would cover the cost of a few litres of gas. I also have to wonder about the long term durability of a gas engine that is continuously starting up and shutting down as needed. This can't be good on the internal components either? Just my thoughts.

I wish you much success with your C.T surgery. Remember that you should not return to doing whatever caused this problem, it will return. Figure out the cause of the problem and then rectify it. Bi-lateral here also, once on one hand, 4 times the other. In the old days, (early 1980's) this surgery required a hospital stay and you were knocked out completely. Now just like you said, they freeze it and slash away! It will hurt for quite sometime, not as bad as right now but every once in a while OUCH!

Nice mess of freshly frozen perch ya got there! -
We all like to blame it on the weatherman/woman. Not their fault, it's really a plot of us Northerners to overthrow the American government! If we get our way then we can all go south to hibernate till spring so we can go winter fishing in our T-shirts. Stay warm eh!

Are your minnows in a glass tank? I'd also be wondering if the glass can withstand the expansion ice can cause and subsequently crack your tank.

Agree with ya Clampet. Blowin' from the west, fish on the east side. Blowin' from the North, fish the south side. Not engraved in stone but only a theory , just like everything else to do with fishin'

I have this set up, but the rod is the Ugly "Lite" seams to be OK, I have had it for a couple of seasons. The 300 has a 6:1 retrieve. I can remember about 20 or 30 years ago the ugly stick alone cost 90 - 100 bucks, and that was in 1970's dollars. I wonder how they can make them and sell them so cheap now? China?
