  1. I think that you first need to decide what the primary use for the boat will be. Most that use their boat firstly for fishing and secondly for family runabout/ski/tubing will probably recommend aluminum hull, full windshield, outboard. If you buy the right boat and get it equipped with bow cushions you may just keep everyone happy. A glass boat will be heavier to tow and depreciate faster. It will however provide a softer, smoother ride. It will also be much less forgiving the first rock or shoal that you grind the hull over!... I did lots of research before I bought this year. If I can help PM me. By the way welcome to the board...
  2. Great report. Nothing beats spending that kind of time with your parents. You should treasure it. Both of mine are gone now, but fond memories are for ever...
  3. Amazing fish Mike, thanks for sharing.
  4. Brian, way to go bud! That's awesome.... I'm in the 265# club, gained 40# when i quit the cigarettes a few years ago. I can't do any running or anything that pounds on my knees and ankles, (too much abuse on the soccer field), I must try the swimming though. Quitting the smokes is a different story. After a few days the physical addiction calms down. The biggest problem, at least for me, was the association of cigarettes with every aspect of my lifestyle. Pick up the phone (light a cigarette), get in the car (light a cigarette), have a beer (light a cigarette), pour a coffee....................well, you get the idea. Change your daily habits and it will be easier.
  5. As Roy said, brings back some fond memories of fishing the piers at night....Thanks for sharing!
  6. And what would be know!....
  7. So sorry Ron. I understand the pain and suffering that this incredibly cruel disease causes not only to the unfortunate one afflicted but to the families that provide the care and support. I have been through it. Our sincere condolences and our thoughts are with you and your family. Barbara & John
  8. Great report and incredible pics Sean. Thank you for sharing your trip.
  9. Good points..... US banks do recognise CDN banks if you have all of the appropriate info to give them.
  10. Rizzo, definitely worth it if you find the right one for you. Do your due diligence and it's a simple process.

  17. OK, here's my two cents......... Pyramid schemes are illegal, full stop. Multi Level Marketing is not, although it uses many of the Pyramid tactics. See the difference here http://www.competitionbureau.gc.ca/epic/si.../en/01230e.html according to the GC Competition Bureau. Anything that involves MLM, again in my opinion, is unsustainable, meaning that it relies on you signing up others who sign up others, who in turn sign up others. In theory, each get a cut of the sales made by the people further down the line. What they don't tell you is that each level compounds itself........meaning, if you sign up 6 people and each of them sign up six people and so on and so on, by the time it have reached the 12th level you are at 13,060,694,016 if my math is correct (more than the current world population). Tread cautiously....and.... if you asked to front any money, don't it is illegal. PM me if you want to know any more.... John...
  18. There are similar bylaws in our area too, however there must be 10 boats and a few motorhomes and campers within a few blocks parked in driveways, some waaay bigger than mine. Cliffs absolutely right it doesn't usually get policed unless someone complains. I guess it's all down to someones perspective of what is obtrusive. If you have a long(ish) driveway then there is less chance of it offending the neighbors. I have a double garage with a single large door. I can get the boat in at an angle if I clean out some of the "stuff" that's taking up the space right now.........
  19. Congrats Dan, I wish you the best of luck. Thanks for the heads up Peter.
  20. We call 'em knickers Raf, the knots are the same though!.........
  21. Welcome nkranger, hope that you have a nice time here. Couple of suggestions so that you don't suffer the wrath of the some of us old fogies...1. Introduce yourself before you ask others to give up their "spots" and 2. Try to type legibly, not in text message "speak", so that we can understand what the heck it is you are asking....
  22. Actually Joe pretty much all of the theme parks are applying that silly 48" under and over pricing! If you want to have a great day and save some money (depending on where you live) Darien Lake is in my opinion one of the better values. $29.99 over 48" and 19.99 under 48". I understand that discount tickets are available at the Peace Bridge Duty Fee on the way across the border. They also offer camping and have all inclusive weekend family passes. www.godarienlake.com John...
