  1. I know that most of the boys here favour Lowrance, however I bucked the trend and just bought Humminbird 927c. Come on over anytime, have a look and play around with it. I am VERY happy with it so far. John...
  2. Thank you Roy... I was in the UK ready to fly back to Canada. Heathrow airport was a nightmare. We gladly gave up our seats so that returning Americans could get home to their loved ones through Toronto. Four days later we were back home... It is hard to believe Cliff, that 7 years has gone by....
  3. I am a pretty tall guy and am much more comfortable with a longer rod. Having said that, I own 2 x 6'6" rods for jigging, the jury is still out as to whether I will change them up for 7' ers next season.
  4. Welcome Tony. Nice to see someone else who can still float fish with a spinning reel......
  5. I was in the market this summer and pretty much looked at everything. I drove up to Vaughn as one thing I liked about Tracker was the beam and the way they sit in the water. It didn't take very long to realize that was not the place to buy. The salespeople couldn't have appeared less interested. I actually had to go up to one and ask about a particular boat. He answered my question very generically in about 5 words and went on with his conversation he was having with a BPS salesperson. That one salesperson, and his attitude, caused me to move on without really finding out what I wanted to know about Tracker. I ended up buying Princecraft..
  6. So sorry for your families loss Paul. I talked to Terry at Lakair, he was a great guy..
  7. Once more you leave me (almost) speechless. Thanks again Drew...... 47 minutes from start to finish, I must admit, like Glen, I ogled those Char shots a little too much for my own good........... It is a trip that I have been dreaming about for years, now I know that I will make it a reality.
  8. Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise Yv. The walleye will come....
  9. Looks like a great time out on the water with the family Mike. Those are the days that matter......
  10. Thanks for the very interesting first post StoneFly. I think that no matter what, this topic is going to get you flak from some of the lets say more opinionated members of this board. Anyway, welcome. Look forward to your posts.
  11. Congratulations Roger, I know that you will be missed. Let's arrange a Grimsby swill and catch up.
  12. Really cute pup Jack....
  13. Trust me on this one.....you do NOT need to see that picture. A mental representation of the offense is sufficient. However, here are some relatives of TJ's who really know how to wear one............
  14. Because an external GPS will enable you to mount the antenna somewhere on the boat that will not block its direct line of satellite communication, say a windshield, bimini top, etc....
  15. IMHO probably not. Why not head down to Watertown NY and hit Gander Mountain. Have lunch or dinner in Sackets Harbor on the deck at the historic Maddison Barracks Inn?
  16. Oops GPS not GSP
  17. I just upgraded to a 900 series and love it. They have come a long, long way! Would definitely go with external GSP antenna though (787C2).
  18. Maureen you have a PM
  19. Sounds like gasoline fumes igniting to me, starting the inboard without turning the blower on?
  20. They are same people that clean out their cars onto the parking lots at shopping malls and at traffic lights at off ramps Phil!
  21. Great report Dan. I too was looking forward to this one.
  22. I talked to Wayne on the phone yesterday Dan and he was really looking forward to the trip. He was praying that the weather held so that he could get in the air. He was a little concerned about the co-ordinates that you gave him though....
  23. Bucktail, most sincere condolences. You see those traits in your Dad because he has passed them along to you. You have those strengths, you just need to recognise them. I lost Dad almost exactly a year ago and Mom about 2 1/2 years ago. Both struggled a long time with advanced lung disease, bravely to the end. If I can be of any help, even a coffee and a chat, PM me or call me at any time 905-333-0231 John & Barbara
  24. Must be cooling off down there bud......
  25. Nice looking fish Lew. Glad that the girls are on the mend.
