I can't comment on the MinnKota but I have the MotorGuide version and I wouldn't be without it. I do however know a lot about MinnKota as they are a large customer of mine and if the MotorGuide unit hadn't come with my new boat I would have bought the MinnKota.

Not sure about the recent versions, but they needed oxygen to support combustion. As soon as you restricted the supply of oxygen, (pocket, gloves, etc. etc.), they stopped working.

Pretty cool Carole. Thanks to your's Bernie's and Cliff's posts I have renewed interest in my family history. I have literally hundreds of photo's of family members, most of whom I have no idea of the connection. I don't think anyone smiled in a photo before the early 1900's. I remember my grandmother telling me that a trip to the portrait studio when she was very small was quite the event.

In most cases I am pretty happy with my local Canadian Tire. It has been family run for he last gazzilion years. They have expanded it from less than 30,000 Sq' to over 200,000 Sq'. The only negative is that I think they are losing the plot a little bit in some of the areas they are expanding into. WalMart they are not! Service has always been pretty good. If you want to get me going on misleading advertising try Zellers, HBC, Sears........they do it continually. So much so that I have spent my last dollar at any of those 3.
