  1. Very smooth Regan, did Goldie write that one for you ...lol.
  2. We find "new" rocks every year in West Bay. As Rich says when the water levels were way down one year we saw rocks that we had run over at 20+MPH previous years. Its an area that deserves lots of respect and when outside of known channels extreme caution is the key...even then the odd encounter is inevitable. Sorry about the lower end.
  3. The best and only way to quit for good is to wake up one morning throw away whatever you have left and start a new life. The cravings go away after a few days but the associations take much longer. You have to change your life............change those things that you associate with having a cigarette. My toughest one was weekend mornings in the summer, get up early make a pot of coffee, grab the newspaper and my pack of cigs and head out to the deck... It's not easy, but damn, it's worth it. Do it for your family Brian, tough it out and you will get there.
  4. I would pay attention to what Lew and Andy are saying. It's not what you can see that you need to be concerned about, it's what you can't see....Many of us have "found" rocks and shoals that "were not there" last year... Google is your friend.....
  5. Glad you and Di got home safe. Tough fishing indeed! Hope to see you guys again soon
  6. Nice fish Monique........... :-)
  7. Great stuff Lew, I didn't see one all week never mind hook into one. Did you try Cross Lk yet?
  8. Hi Rich....I hear that a lot...
  9. Cool video NewHips..thanks for posting
  10. Haven't bought a Shimano rod for quite a while prefer St Croix muskie rods myself. My last walleye rod was a Spiel special and I couldn't be happier.
  11. Patsy told me she married you for your money.......
  12. Hope you find her on Cross Lew. Let me know how it fishes.......
  13. Heck of a nice boat in that second to last pic Rich...
  14. Nice to see you. Patsy and the girls again Rich. As you said the fishing wasn't the best but we had fun anyway.

Now you boys be nice up there Art.

  19. I found the 5.7 VERY overrated performance wise especially when you take into consideration the terrible gas mileage. My fuel consumption with the F150 Eco doesn't change whether the boat is on the back or not.
  20. Go get 'em Pete!
  21. Welcome aboard....I love shore fishing too...miss the rivers and streams from my youth in the UK. Will have to get back into it..
  22. What Bill said........ I have had 4 GC's......4L 6, V6 and 5.7L. Hated the 5.7. Having driven the 3L diesel that would be my engine of choice if I bought another, but I do more driving than you and pull heavier load. Having said that I drive a Crew Cab F150 with Ecoboost and love it. Great acceleration when you need it torque up the wazzoo and will pull more than I will ever need. Pretty nice interior for you SUV drivers too.
  23. Used to catch big ones in local rivers in the North but much bigger ones in canals on Norfolk Broads. Cheese and Liver was too expensive for me.........:-) I used to dig redworms and brandlings out of farmers dung piles and use a big gob of them on a #8 worm hook throw it out and wait. A little like catfishing. Love Putney....the neighbourhood ain't what it used to be though. Couldn't afford to live there these days. My sister lives in West Hampstead....she had to have that NW6 post code! Smoked a few things in Holland but eel wasn't one of them...lol
  24. I used to catch them over there too Simon. Pretty big ones too, sad they are in decline there too. Stay up all night ledgering......Used to 6 inchers in the streams when I was a kid. You a jellied eel fan Simon?
