Thanks for starting EasyFish. Emigrating to Canada in the 70's I really know nothing about Simcoe as it once was. Like you I would like to know more about its history (pre 1960's).

Frankly, I could care less about hole shot and a few extra MPH. If I can get on plane relatively easily with 4 in the boat and cruise at 25 to 30mph that suits me fine. My 90 Merc 4 stroke is quiet, great on gas, will troll down to 2mph and tops out at 41mph on the GPS with 2 in the boat (not small people). Works for me.

We gotta re-book that Lew!

Some species of frogs can survive being frozen and thawed. They stop breathing and their hearts stop beating and they need zero oxygen. Before the rest of their organs shut down they surround themselves in some sort of protective glucose like substance. When they thaw the body starts a repair and rebuilding process. Not sure we can make Muskie opener as this coming year will be a crazy one for us. Perhaps early August but we will need to play it by ear until early in the New Year. Sure would like to see all y'all in 2015.

I'm with Craig, awesome saltwater opportunites from shore or boat. Depending on where you choose in Florida Google is your friend lots of local spots pretty much everywhere.

Hi Lew, a lot of gift stores, restaurants, hotels etc., particularly in tourist areas try to charge those fees. It is a way that they improve their bottom line and is in no way a legitimate charge. I have been hit with it a number of times, particularly in areas like Niagara and told the establishment to remove the charge. I do not go back!
