  1. Reimer is a UFA at the end of the season. If they are not planning on re-signing him then they may as well get something for him now rather than nothing in the spring. Bernier is still under contract next year. They will probably trade him next year.
  2. I think the original 4 stroke Mercury power heads were built by Yamahas. I don't think that is the case any more; I am pretty sure that Mercury is building their own powerheads now. I don't know which year they changed. The the under 30 hp motors from Mercury, Evinrude, and Nissan are built by Tohatsu.
  3. I am not sure how convenient Missassauga is for you. But the Toronto Sportsman Show has moved to that location for this year. It will be there in about three weeks.
  4. The Hamilton show starts next Friday. http://www.ontarioboatshows.com/ Plus there is still the Toronto Sportsman Show starting on March 16th. I am looking forward to seeing the show in its new location. There are also a few other smaller shows in St Catherines, Bowmanville, Trenton, Belleville, and one in Toronto on various dates. Most of these are tackle swaps so I wouldn't expect to see any boats. The St Catherines Show is tomorrow; I think the location has changed though.
  5. Do you have any evidence to support your claim that there has been a five fold increase in pot use amongst youth in the last 25 years? It certainly was not uncommon for youth to smoke pot in the '80s. From what I understand it was even more common in the '70s. I doubt that pot use is significantly higher now than it has been over the last forty or so years. I wouldn't be surprised if it has dropped a little.
  6. I wonder if someone dumped dye down the pikes throat. I can't imagine it getting that much colour from eating a few dyed minnows.
  7. How many dyed minnows would it have to eat to look like that? Is that your photo? Or, something that you pulled off the internet?
  8. But they have territorial income tax.
  9. Isn't that just a rumour? I know that figure has been floating around the internet; but, I don't think anything official has been announced.
  10. One of the issues with Tracker boats is the hulls cracking. Many refer to them as Cracker boats. I know someone posted that this issue has been fixed; but I would be reluctant to take a chance.
  11. I am not sure what your point is about how dangerous bears are or aren't. How aggressive are ducks, grouse, rabbits, deer, etc. towards humans? Thay can all be legally hunted. p.s. Bears have been known to kill people. They are not always as timid as the one in the video. She is taking a big chance; just because it worked out okay that time doesn't mean it will always end well.
  12. I don't think that there is any truth to those figures.
  13. Don't Sylvan, SmokerCraft, and Legend have the same hulls? Sylvan and SmokerCraft are part of the same company and they make the hulls for Legend.
  14. I agree that there are situations were being underpowered is a safety issue; but I wouldn't want the government to start making laws about minimum horse power.
  15. And keep your body straight. You don't to smack a rock with your tail bone.
  16. Yes, Legend boats are known for that. I think that Legend boats are fine. Legend does not make their own hulls. SmokerCraft makes a lot of their hulls. I do think Legend adds their one accessories. I think a 20hp (let alone 15hp) is too small for that boat. I recommend that you get close to the max HP so that it will get up on plane. You can back off on the throttle once you're on plane.
  17. True, but driving after the accident does not equal driving before the accident.
  18. In order for something to "take you down like a rock" , it would have to be heavier than water. Water weighs the same as water and will not pull you down. That is why a plastic bucket full water will not sink to the bottom. Having waders could cause some issues though. Waders that are full of water will not pull you down, but they will make it difficult to climb out. The water is neutrally buoyant in water; not in air. That is why a bucket full of water is heavy when lifted out of the water. If your waders were full of water, you might have to remove them to climb out of the water. Waders may also make fighting the current more difficult. If the waders were neoprene the would probably help. They would add floatation and probably would catch too much current because they fit tight to your body.
  19. That's in the fall when they are better prepared to survive on their own.
  20. I found a link: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/thunder-bay/black-bear-hunt-ontario-expands-1.3455857
  21. No, a Swedish Pimple is quite different. A Mr Champ looks like that; but I think there are some other brands with the same shape.
  22. Sept 3rd, 2015 was before the election. I referring to his priorities after the election. Before the election he was going to bring in 25,000 refugees by Dec 31, limit annual deficits to $10 billion, and run a balanced budget in his fourth year. After the election he reduced the refugee target to 10,000 by Dec 31st and 25,000 by March 1st; he missed the former and is expected to miss latter. Annual deficits are expected to be well over $10 billion and he is not expected to balace the books by 2019 afterall. And remember how the tax reduction for the middle class and the tax increase for the rich were going to be revenue neutral? That changed after the election too. And we may still end up getting the F35s as well. What he said he would do before the election and what he will do after are not the same.
  23. I didn't want to highjack the other thread so I thought I would post this here where it is more on topic. Many (most?) of the so called floater suits are not approved as a PFD. That raises the question; just how much floatation does do they (non-approved ones) provide? I suspect that if they don't have approval it is because the don't meet the requirement for a PFD (I believe that is a mimimum of 15 pounds of floatation). I wonder if people are getting a false sense of security when the where a 'floater suit' that is not approved for use as a PFD.
  24. Actually, I think that legalizing marijuana is pretty low priority for him. Low enough that I am not convinced that it will even happen in this mandate.
  25. The way I read it on one of the reviews that I found, somebody's phone (that uses TrackR) will need to be near it. Better than nothing. But I doubt that it will help you find your car topper that someone stashed on a back lake... "They also try to find your stuff when it’s farther away near you: Both of these products use the concept of “crowdsourcing” and GPS. Crowd GPS is based on the idea that if you can’t find something, say, your keys, maybe someone else can — as long as they also happen to be using the TrackR or Tile app (iOS and Android), with Bluetooth turned on and crowd GPS enabled. Your lost keys will give off a unique identifier that can be detected by other people’s apps, sending you GPS data about where they are." http://recode.net/2015/04/01/trackr-vs-tile-the-lost-and-found-face-off/
