  1. Len Thompson are known for the 5 of Diamonds pattern. I have had good luck using them for pike.
  2. Unless you're willing to pay for a lithium ion battery, the weight is probably a pretty good indicator of how long you will be able to run your motor on a charge.
  3. We're not forgetting about the rules. We just understand the rules well enough to know that it is completely legal to fish for muskie with a conservation license as long as any that are caught are released immediately.
  4. That is going back a ways. But Firefox is essentially the second coming of Netscape. I think it was codenamed Phoenix at one point, which does seem appropriate.
  5. At least you know that it is in a really, really safe place.
  6. Would any of these even fall within the MNR's mandate? A fuel spill maybe, but even that might be MOE.
  7. Frenchman's Bay always used to have open water on the east side. Sometimes there would be ice fisherman and boaters using the bay at the same time. The east end has been getting ice since they build the new piers at the mouth. I have not been there this year though.
  8. I glad they have the floatation. I doubt that many people would get out before it went down if it didn't.
  9. They've only played one game since you made the prediction.
  10. Even though they are both in the same building, the Sportsman Show occupies several times as much floor space. There is way more to see at the Sportsman Show. Even if they have some non-fishing exhibits at the show, they still have plenty of room left over to have more fishing related exhibits than the Spring Fishing Show. A lot of people used to mention the difficulty of getting downtown and parking as a reason to attend the Spring Fishing Show instead of the Sportsman Show. Now that the Sportsman Show is in the same location and also has free parking, there are fewer reasons to attend the Spring Fishing Show.

  12. Here is another option for hard water trolling. You don't need a hold big enough for a boat.
  13. Yeah, I suspect that western cougars have migrated eastward into Ontario. I don't think that any of the original eastern cougars remain. There may be a few escaped/released pets as well. But if would be difficult to re-establish a wild population with domesticated animals.
  14. I can't see the pics that you posted. My old boat had about 20" of space between the front deck and the console. It was pretty simple to build a little wooden box that just dropped in that space. That gave me some extra storage and a larger deck up front. I didn't have to fasten it to the boat because it really couldn't go anywhere. Your situation my different.
  15. Gotta do both to be legal... you'll have to decide if it's worth it.
  16. I been told that used boats in the 20' range are actually cheaper than 16' or 17' foot boats. The reason given was a lot of people want the biggest boat that they can fit in their garage, which is usually a 17 footer.
  17. I don't think cougers would be very effective at controlling coyotes. The stories about the MNR using them to control deer at least much a little bit sense... not a lot of sense, but some.
  18. I build one for the front of my boat. It fit between the console and the existing front deck. I think that was simpler than what you are contemplating. I may be able to find some pictures; but I am not sure how helpful they would be for your situation.
  19. You can definitely do that. You probably won't get as good of a deal as you would if you bought a whole package though.
  20. Perhaps a lighter grease/oil would help. The lubricant would become thicker in the cold.
  21. Based on Trudeau's comments about the importance of keeping it away from minors, I would expect the sales to be highly regulated once it is legalized. It may not be much easier to grow your own after legalization than it is now.
  22. They may be hoping that people don't realize how much they are spending after the exchange.
  23. You can question it all you want; but an unlicensed person is legally allowed to receive a limit of fish. I still don't see anywhere in the regulations where the person giving the fish has to live in a separate residence.
  24. What is the relevance of who caught the fish? It is legal to give fish away to an unlicensed angler. Once given, they count to the recipients limit (which is a sport fishing limit for unlicensed anglers); so the angler can go out again and catch another limit. I don't think it would become illegal just because they live in the same house. Although, they may need to able to identify who owns which fish.
  25. The head was pointing towards the back.
