That may have contribute, but artificially low rates were a factor too. Much of the debt would have been paid off if the rates had covered all costs; debt repayment is one of the costs that need to factored into the rates.

It doesn't explain the much cleaner air; but it does account for a large part of the increase in prices. The 6% coming from wind and solar accounts for more than 6% of the costs. The auditor general found that 56% of the increase in prices was due to green energy. The problems go back at least to William Davis; if not sooner. Harris may have been the first to try and do something about it. I am going by memory, but I think the debt was $38 billion. That means that the cost of providing the electricity was $38 billion more than the revenue from billing for usage. A part of the increase in prices is a change from only paying a portion of the cost to paying the full cost plus debt retirement charge. The debt retirement charge means that people today are paying for electricity that was under billed 20 or more years ago. I.e. my debt retirement charge covers the discount that my grandmother got on her bills.

That's another good point. I suspect that the city folks are helping to pay for the installation costs for remote customers. Our telephone bills work like that. People in cities pay a surcharge on their bills so that rural areas can have affordable telephone bills.

It's a little late to be blaming Harris for the province's problems. And no, it wasn't Harris who was the first to mishandle Hydro. They already had about $38 billion in debt when he became premier.

I shouldn't be too big of a problem for many who live in the city. Most families have two or more cars. You can have one electric vehicle for getting to and from work and around the city and still have a regular vehicle for any long drives.

I think the technology moves faster than law makers can keep up. I don't think they are allowing them so much as they just haven't addressed the issue yet. I think you still need a sober driver paying attention in the drivers seat. I don't think that you can legally text away on your phone because you have the autopilot turned on.

The guy that I dealt with was Ross Fence & Decks - 905-430-4664. He did a pretty good job in our neighborhood in Scarborough. That was about 13 years ago. I am not sure if he is still around. The auto pilot definitely isn't ready to replace the driver quite yet. There was a guy killed recently when his Tesla drove into a truck. He was heading into the sun and theory is that the auto pilot was not able to detect the white truck against a light background. I guess the auto pilot is good enough to make people think that they can rely on it; but not quite good enough for people to actually rely on it.

Qualifying are not intended to be accepted. It is just an administrative procedure to ensure the Jays will get a draft pick if the players sign with someone else. Declining the qualifying offer does not prevent the player from signing a more generous and/or longer term contract with the Jays. But they are also free to talk to other teams as well.

I am a fan of nuclear myself. But most the people who are concerned with emissions don't like nuclear either.

He already has been give another shot. It is just a matter of whether he takes what the Jays are will to pay, or look for a higher bidder.

I remember T.J. calling me to offer a stay at a fishing lodge as a prize from the board. I had to turn it down because it was too close to my wife's due date. My son was born on October 26, 1999. That is how I know that the board has been here since at least 1999. The board was a lot different then. 2002 may have been the launch of a later version.

Keep in mind that there is a lot of pollution associated with the oil industry (over an above the emissions during the end use). So there would be some positive environmental changes associated with going to more electric.

It would be great to Edwin at 1st and K. Morales in the DH slot. But I think that part of the reason that they signed Morales is because they don't expect to sign EE.
