  1. I used an inflatable for the past 2 years before upgrading to a portaboat this year. I was using the CT version of that, the bestway voyager 500. I had made a 2piece floor and carpeted it with indoor/outdoor carpet. Then I bought 2 tripod seats from CT, they are about 14" tall and perfect for the boat. Used a 32lb thrust trolling motor with the bestway motormount. The thing served me great for both years I used it. Anyone at last years fish-a-thon might remember me and my girlfriend in it crusing along. Having said that, I definitely don't miss it, lol. The inflating was fine, but deflating at the end of the day was a serious pain in the... needless to say I now have a Yakima roofrack system for my Mazda3 Hatch (we all drive Mazdas apparently) and I throw the portaboat ontop. Have fun with it, it definitely beats shore fishing, and if you stay on a reasonable sized lake you couldn't ask for better as you can go as shallow as you like! Just be safe and carry that epoxy sealant as mentioned above, you never know! The only picture of it I can find:
  2. those fish are HUGE! (hold em closer next time ). But seriously, nice fish and looks like a great time!
  3. You can't say that Stoty, Wilson had him playing 1-2 dman minutes, and he just isn't there yet. Then he basically got benched, which threw all of his confidence out the window. I think (read, hope) Schenn can turn it around this year. Who knows. One things forsure is I doubt Karlsson will have a repeat. Good dman, sure, but I don't think he will be a repeat ppg player
  4. G-bay for the weekend hopefully nailing the smallies. Will probably be using live worms more than anything, why mess with a tried and true method?
  5. Can't say much else, other than that I need to find where these guys live Amazing report
  6. I still love my worm-hook-split shot-round bobber
  7. I must say, I think we should start a thread for every style of bait and have you guys comment on how to use them with different techniques! I absolutely loved the spinnerbait thread, and it gave me confidence to throw them for pike, needless to say the pike fishing has never been better! I have learned a bunch from the lipless crank thread, and now this? Love it! I wish I could give some advice to help out but my fishing techniques are lacking
  8. Contemplating going out for some Pike action at my favourite local lake... Its friggen hot already...no shade on my boat either...hmmm
  9. Funny, I was out fishing yesterday and once on the water I realized I forgot my sweater at home. Then it started to rain and the wind picked up...not nice in shorts 'n t-shirt. Got me thinking I need to invest in a rain suit, this might be it! Thanks for the post!
  10. Good movie sure....but overrated in my opinion. I'm more excited for the dark Knight and more so for the amazing Spiderman.
  11. Never fished it before but it's on my list of local lakes to fish. Let us know how it goes!
  12. great time last year! can't wait to get out again. Hopefully it will not be as hot as last year and the bite will be a bit better (I always blame the weather )
  13. Never knew about this species...absolutely beautiful! Great photos! Any highres versions I can use to Photoshop and make wallpapers with?? I'll share them when done! Basically just crop and add letterbox frame
  14. When inthe bush... For me its gotta be a knife...but I've never camped that way before
  15. .... Bigger than most bass I catch!
  16. Love the report. The way you have it set up and the pictures are great! Nice fish too!
  17. Dick's Sporting Goods is one that comes to mind for me. Located @ the Galleria Mall. Only one I know of/been to. They have a surprisingly good fishing section. Other than that I don't know of any!
  18. nice fish man! I still need to take you up on your offer
  19. Sent you a PM.....completely unrelated lol. I live in oakville and have never tried any of said ponds...but wouldn't mind trying to find some!
  20. I really wanted to go but had to work. In the end it might have been a blessing...can't afford to spend anymore money for at least a few weeks Might need to get in contact with someone who makes their own jigheads...I hate buying packs of 5 only to lose them in 1 outting
  21. that's crazy! Makes you wonder how they came across the kite fishing idea...
  22. So THAT was one of the honey holes you somewhat referred too! Too bad I never got to fish it Especially because I live about 10 minutes from there. In my 23 years alive (all of which being in Oakville), even I have seen ridiculous changes for the worse. Basically everything north of uppermiddle was not there when I was a youngin' Too bad though, what a shame
  23. anyone watch that video that Sinclair posted? What if your home network got hacked...and every mirror was now being recorded...imagine the lawsuits
  24. ps* good luck using a finder properly in Mountsberg come mid summer, the weed growth is unreal, that and there really isn't any need to use it @ Mountsberg..I mean you can see the bottom almost everywhere you fish
  25. I'm with johnnyb! I have a Humminbird piranhamax 160, and realistically all I use it for is depth/structure and water temp. It does see fish...but that's really only useful when vertical jigging or icefishing. The only problem with that sonar is that there is a possibility it just doesn't work, that or it eats batteries
