Ernie...send Nanook (Jack) a PM...he worked part-time cleaning boats for a chap in Buckhorn, Ont...not too far a drive from you... -
My niece's husband used to tell us..."show me a fish I can't catch at noon and I'll get up early with you boys" We never could... He is one of a couple of fishermen I have met in my life that seem to have a sixth sense of where the fish are and what they want...When nobody is catching any...they never got skunked...

Cph and I were doing a bit of carpin' over at the point this morning and look who drops by to say hello... Our pal Nanook ! It was great to see you Jack and to hear you are feeling a bit better...And we are glad the carp co-operated enough for you to see the carp equipment in action...Drop by anytime...

I was fortunate enough to see the loon carving (and Jack) over at Settler's Village this afternoon...it is definitly a great piece... Jack and several other wood-carvers were demonstrating their craft...lots of good stuff... Maribeth and her friend Barb were demonstrating basket weaving dressed in period costumes...

All is OK Cliff...I explained that same thing happened to Debbe (Crappieperchhunters wife) after she landed a carp on Steve's birthday a couple of years ago... Great report Nancy Twilight...It was a pleasure meeting you and Dave...Too bad he didn't take my carp rod...you may have ended up with matching bruises... Did anyone catch more after I left ??? I'm now on my way to meet-up with CPH for more carping... -
Beauties Jack !!!

Awe shucks Cliff...T'wernt nuttin'... Welcome Teressa...your Dad and Sue have become good friends of Maribeth and me for some time now...Great peoples Them and Jack (Nanook) and Jackie are the reason we moved up this way...of course, being close to good fishing helped too...

Percocet does a good job for my Arthritis but I take it only when absolutely necessary...I had the occasion where I kinda overdosed to kill the pain of what I thought was a kidney stone...finally went to the hospital only to find out I was severally constipated from the pills I had taken every six hours...very embarrassing when the doctor tells you you are full of siht and do not have a kidney stone My new doctor is not a fan of Percocet so I'll find out next month if he will give me a new script for some as I'm down to my last few pills... I just recently got some arthritis pain acetaminophin 650 mg caplets but the jury is still out as to their effectivness for arthritis...work well for a headache !

Cliff would have to go through the locks at Bobcaygeon...Pick Nanook (Jack) and me up on the north shore of Pigeon Lake then head down the back channel to the narrows... Sounds good to me...

After running around Lindsay this morning and just past noon hour I stopped into Allison's Northern Burger about half way between Lindsay and Bobcaygeon (just east of Dunsford road on hwy 36) and had the best damn homemade burger and cup of coffee I've had in a long time... If you're in the neighborhood drop in and give them a try...you can't miss their signs along the road...$7 well spent... Open 10:00 AM til 07:00PM

Me too Jimmer...as a matter of fact I had Mark at the bait shop order me a 10 foot "Wonderpole" ($9) to use to play with the panfish...I had an old cheap fly reel that I taped on it to hold some line...a big bluegill makes you think you have hooked up with a decent bass... I will soon be switching over to carp fishing...just bought my corn last week...

I haven't done the math yet for this past year (final bill will be in next month) but the first year we burned 5 bush cords @ $200 per...then I found out this was not in line with my home insurance so we cut back to 2 bush cords @$215 per and turned up the electric baseboard heaters...this resulted in an increase of $600 for electricity but 3 bush cords would have cost me $615 that year... The year before last, Maribeth's asthma returned and we suspected the wood stove so we cut back to 1 bush cord @ $245 per for recreation fires and emergency and still have half of it left over....and no sign of her asthma returning... Conclusion:...Doesn't seem to matter what you burn it is going to cost about the same... BTW...wood = a lot of work and "WORK" is a four-letter word... Even when you have it cut and delivered...stacking and hauling it into the house equals "WORK"

"What a nice day!" Hey Cliff...every day we wake up on the right side of the lawn is a nice day...
-
Which reminds me...I never got those chains down to you for sharpening...LOL

That doesn't sound like the same fire route you and I took looking for some trout and ended up ay Crystal Lake... If I remember rightly, we couldn't catch any trout at the trout farm we stopped in at... The new Bait and Tackle store in town that used to be at the back of McDoo's and is now located just east of the four corners beside Corky's small engine repair place has a few small canoes out front for sale in case you are interested... I heard Corky died a couple of weeks ago so the shop may be looking for an experienced small engine repair mechanic. Thought you might be looking for some part-time work to keep you busy...

Couchiching Beach Park near the Harbour Master Building...Parking may be a problem if you have to take the boat in and out each day unless you have a dock at your cottage...
