1. Welcome back Sis... Wow...there is a blast from the past...it has been too long...
2. Seeing as how they extended the bass and musky seasons in the Kawarthas to December15 a warmer fall will be welcome...
3. I'm Late!....but best wishes pal... Sounds like you are about to become a fiance or groom???... Lucky Devil
4. Frankie65 has a good idea...take in the Fish-a-Thon on Saturday... My son in London has expressed interest in doing it... Just like the other constant reminders I need to keep me on the straight and narrow...I need my mental health therapy (fishing) in my search for serenity our other friends mention from time to time...
5. I am still waiting to see your non-hair method Lorne...or did I miss it?
6. I find cod or haddock much more flavorful steamed with a ginger/garlic (fresh) sauce than freshwater fish...red snapper or orange roughy come a close second... My oldest son is highly allergic to freshwater fish of any kind and though I can eat some I prefer saltwater for eating...catching...that's a different kettle of fish...(my bad pun)
7. I've spent less than $100 per year the past 2 years and that was for carp equipment and bait... A couple of bank stix...an alarm...a telecopic carp rod to have as a second rod in case my son or bro-in-law cares to give carp a try...
8.

Like Brian...I prefer salt water seafood...But will eat a meal of perch, crappie, bluegill, and smallmouths (in the 2 to 2 1/2 lb range)...
9. My five year old great-grandson Ryan James a couple of weeks ago... Oh my...would his grandmother be proud of him if she were still with us...
10.

Roy: You could say the same for Mike's pal Victor...I had the pleasure of fishing with them for our preferred species (carp) and they are a fine pair of young gentlemen to associate with...they politely listened to my tales of fishing in the olden days and never complained...LOL
11. Welcome to the board... Flattery will get you everywhere...
12. I hope Marvin is OK Lew... About three years ago lightning hit one of the large spruce trees across the front of our property and lopped off the top third of it... It has since died and I will soon have to have it cut down... We didn't see one of our cats for two nights...
13. Hooray !!!...Glad to hear you got out and caught a fish...I keep telling Uncle Dave that it is a shame you don't get to use those custom (Spiel) built rods you have...You got better tackle than him and I combined... Cheers Kid !!! Finally got to fish with your great-nephew Ryan James and Robert Both caught 2 wgsf (rock bass) off shore but Ryan caught the biggest...LOL
14. I like your kind of sanity Beans Fishing is my Mental Health Therapy...
15. Way back in my drinking days I woulda thought like Photoz and cut the lines...guess I've been restored to some sense of sanity...
16. I know...I know...we don't own the spots we fish but... Sunday mornings 'till noon, Crappieperchhunter and I usually carp fish at Carp Point (he and the missus go garage saleing on Saturdays) but this weekend there was a bloody great houseboat tied up right in front of where we set-up both yesterday and today... Yesterday around 05:00pm Maribeth and I drove by and there was nothing there and Steve drove by at 07:00 pm and nada so we figure we are good to "go"...I even sent Jack (Nanook) an e-mail stating same as he likes to drop by and watch and shoot the bull... I feel sorry more for Steve not getting to wet a line this weekend (working stiff) and for Jack making the trip over for nothing than I do for myself as I can go anytime...as some of us know Jack is not in the best of health at present so I hope the trip was not too tiring on him...I waited around for a while hoping to catch up to him but Mother Nature called and I was damned if I was going to pay $2 to park the truck just to use their washroom at the locks so I headed back home... Oh well...the lawns needed cutting...end of rant !!!
17. Most of us carpers use a method feeder or spring feeder above the swivel of our hair rig to which we pack a bait ball of moistened ground bait...this sits on bottom and disolves slowly and hopefully when the carp start feeding on the ground bait it picks up the corn (or whatever) we have threaded on our hair rig... We usually toss out some boiled and flavoured maize also in the same area to attract the carp...don't usually have a problem with the wind scattering the chum, just the current if fishing a river... Are you fishing from shore or from a boat?
18. And she does it very well...hasn't got lost yet... (of course the train runs on tracks) Me?...I'm retired after many years as a bean counter for the CBC
19. LMAO...Welcome to country livin' Lew... The second year we lived up here I had ten poplar trees (tall cone shape type) taken down out back...cost me $50 each plus another $200 to have them cut into 15 inch logs...My neighbor has a splitter and I had lots of firewood and kindling for the stove for a couple of years...burned two hardwood logs and one poplar at a time... I'm sure the guys could drop a tree on a dime...was fun to watch...even if it was costing me
20. Like I always say Terry... I've never met an OFNer I didn't like... Mind you...there are some I'm not in a hurry to meet...
21. I agree... 2 1/2 inch salted Phenix smoke coloured tubes...bass think they are candy Swim them...crawl them on bottom...or under a slip float... I'm off to Lindsay today to buy some for a friend's birthday...
22. Ya but you gotta have a good backstroke...I nailed one with a 'skeeter zapper as it was flying away from me and knocked it against a wall...My cat grabbed it and ran outside with the dog in persuit...
