  1. How old is your flexcoat, that could be your problem, i had an issue once with rod varnish that was old about 18 months old, the other reason as previosly mentioned was improper measuring or mixing of the resin and hardner, hopefully your using mixing cups or syringes to achieve the 50:50 ratio of resin and hardner, temp and humidity can also be a factor, mix another batch making sure its 50:50 and apply a thin coat, and you should be good to go in 24 hours.
  2. Raf you nailed it dead on, for big blades 10s an 12s that push and displace water, that is the reel hands down, and that was why that reel was made with the low gear ratio, it is more comfortable then the big round reels, for casting, if you have only one choice in a reel I would likely go with the 5.4:1 revo toro in the 60 series, which is in the middle of the winch and the highspeed models
  3. Lemmy Killmaster lead singer of the heavy metal group motorhead reported that lead guitarist Michael "Wurzel" Burston passed away at the age of 61 due to heart disease RIP Wurzel
  4. The Irishfield family, weve never met, but you have one incredibly strong willed girl their, and you must be incredibly proud of her determination, and the support she has from her family, and the extended OFC family is truly remarkable.
  5. Look on the bright side sat least they did not want you to take them to a leafs game
  6. My johnson did the same thing in weedy water, horn sounded and stayed on, shut the motor down, to cool, while cooling I cleaned the 2 impellor screens, and looked at the motor where the cooling water comes out OK the pee hole, and it was plugged with a smaill weed that got sucked in through the impellor screens, do that allowed ample time for cooling and once restarted no more horn,, that is likely your problem
  7. Look on the bright side batteries are cheap motors are not, and most important was no one was hurt with battery acid
  8. Re braids I prefer Tuff Line XP or BPS Braid as well, for leaders I do not like Floro for muskie, but am impressed with Triline leader material which is much softer and no doubt gives better lure action, the only time I use Floro is for top waters, if the other guys have not used this leader material give it a try, its much cheaper, more supple and touch as nails, I believe 130 to 150lb is 13.99 and 14.99 respectively at Rollie and Helens, and it can easily be tied, note spool is 100 yrs I believe
  9. A rag soaked in ammonia will drive them out, and dig a trench and do the screening to prevent reinfestation
  10. the one in their catalogue is 13ft and features SIC guides and a fixed reel seat for 149.00 cant beat the price, guides are easily over 100.00 alone
  11. Hook a set of number 7 or 8 colorado blades to the bottom eyelet, and watch the chinnoks rip them off , will also draw them to your lures
  12. Break out the spray bombs and paint your own, seems to me that sledges will sell unpainted blanks if my memory serves me correct, George Unis aka woodie will likely paint them up if you want that color,
  13. Glad you finally found something, wish I would have seen this earlier, but Colgate toothpaste, when mixed lightly with water into a paste, and rub it into the coat thoroughly, bigger the dog the more tubes of toothpaste, use rubber gloves when doing this
  14. A true outdoorsman in the making, thanx for posting, theres nothing like the great outdoors, especially where you reside
  15. The early cardinals were the reel for steelheading as the pin is today, before the cardinal it was the mitchell 410 which was a blueish color with high speed retrieve, FYI the clicker pin on the cardinals is well known for breaking, some used a pin to replace it but a number 12 guitar string works best and will never break again as its made for strumming, also bail springs were the other part that occasionally broke, 3 cardinal 4s recently sold on Ebay for 65.00 2 were complete reels and the other was a parts reel, The shakespear 1810s and 1800 wonderreels were also frequently found on many of the tribs as well, still use my old wonder reels for old time time trips down memory lane,
  16. Guilty or proven guilty by DNA absolutely the death penalty, would you rather have the tax payers pay to protect someone who killed a loved one, to be released in 10 years to do it all over again, what about Olsen, Manson, Barnardo and Ms plea bargain Homolka, theirs millions of dollars which could be spent on healthcare in just those 4 individuals
  17. Thanx Rattletrap My handle only applies to the swimmy fishy variety and does not include or apply to yummy walleyes within the slot size
  18. Your makin it hard for me to continue to fish for eyes, time to bring out the winch and the double 10s, and all the proper release tools, the Big Kahuna is waiting to be slimed
  19. Now the special investigations unit which 10 members have been assigned to this case will spend countless tax payers dollars to determine if it was OK to kill the that shot constable Keith Calderwood. Police are there to serve and protect and do not need to come under scrutiny every time someone is hurt or killed by the police, just doing their job. Scrap the SIU, as well as the Gun Registry, and bring back the Death Penalty, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth, the world will be a lot safer and richer if that was to happen.
