  2. You forgot swimming in the dead of winter in chemong lake with a fisheries biologist with the water temp at 33 degrees F. did you see any muskies down there
  3. Bulk shot in faster flows to get bait down quickly, thru the whole run, and not just the tailout, if u do that you too will be taking epic solo paddler pics
  4. Cronzy said he was a river fishermen too, never seen him on a river and I dont recall seeing you on the river in a long time either
  5. Regarding your coment about trout and salmon been the only fish angled before spawning, what about ice fishing for walleye on the BOQ or Scugog etc, and the new ice fishing for panfish in Zone 17 which also allows the taking of fish before they as well spawn , or should those above species be C and R as well.
  6. This is about sustaining a dwindling fishery, with most Lake O tribs showing only one third at best the runs they use to in the mid to late 80s, This should not be about special interest groups( namely meat hunter river fisherman or charter boats who want to boost their business and their egos) This regulation is long overdue, and needs to be implemented ASAP, and should apply to all trout species in Lake Ont and all the Great Lakes
  7. Works for chinnoks too
  8. I had a 1995 Grand Cherokee LTD, with the inline 6 4.0L HO, the motor is absolute bullet proof, 400 to 500 thousand KM is common, sold mine with 278,000 and compression was still 120 on all cylinders, it had the selec trac transfer case made by New Process which was also flawless, the only trouble I had was water pump, a power steeering pump, exhaust manifiold crack which is common as slowpoke mentioned, and they occur in a area difficult to access, noisey when cold but when engine warms the nise from the exhaust crak will lessen. It just previously sold again, the guy wanter it for offroading and said it had the bestt frame and sub-frame hes seen
  9. When are your going to change your name, on your avitar, the initials can still same the same now how about that and you can fish them all year long to boot
  10. Check the classifieds for the make and model of your thats 4-sale and pay them a visit at night, with hammer, screwdriver and pliers in hand, they wont know its gone till morning by that time youll be looooong gone
  11. Went 1 for 3 with 3 inches visibility, and more rain came just as I left, fishing was slow on the trib I was on, with my fish coming from pocket water, and runs, ganny was even dirtier, and almost totalled when I left their, with floating grass and branches starting to come down the river. Should have went west but thats another day
  12. Went to my office on Friday, the long way their via the Ganny, water was coming 2 feet over the dam, there was actually steelhead in the fenced off area where people stand at the ladder, the lower water was moving high dirty and extremely fast below the CNR, all other creeks were checked to Oshawa and were in the same condition. There are some options though check your pm And the post by Ron ill 3rd it as authentic and very much true
  13. Glad everything worked out for you Mike, to bad all reels were not as simple and dependable as a centrepin
  14. Re line capacity, I checked the boxes on my reels Revo Toro 250 yrds of 14lb and has a line out alarm great for both trolling and casting. Calcutta TE 250 yrds of 14lb so their is not much difference in line capacities between these 2 great reels, for comfort when casting Revo Toro all the way. Calcutta 300 is no where close to the Revo Toro
  15. Put on your skates Mike then you can say you spent a day on the ice, no one hear will no any different
  16. A previous thread mentioned that Lebarons has Revo Toros starting at 195.00 that it a fantastic price for a truly incredible reel you will not be disappointed
  17. 60 series Revo Toro which has the line out clicker, is low profile and comfortable for casting and both trolling, paired with a 8ft compre, the Revo Toro comes in 3 gear ratios the WINCH 4:6 retrieve for casting big double blades. Also a 5:4 which would be a great ratio for most fishing requirements, and a high speed 6:4 retrieve for burning small blades, and also takes up the slack quickly when fishing jerk baits, they also come with 2 handles a power handle and a double paddle handle 450.00 for the combo if you hit a sale that might get you taxes in Good luck in your choice
  18. Just wondered how for 5 years the MNR could not run Ringwood when the MEA with support from the OFAH ran it well, and all of a sudden they feel they are able to once again jump back on the band wagon, at least the fish were bigger and more of them when it was run privately, they should be stocking more cohos instead of dumping them altogether, maybe the MNR could find another Austrailian wine company to fund a steelhead and coho stocking program.
  19. A big cruiser boat hit the causeway a few years back, and I think it was last year or 2 years ago a boat collided with a dock in the same area, accidents happen when stupidity over-rides intellegence these accidents occured at night as well, and a little common sense on the drivers part would eliminate 95% of all accidents, thats not the first snow mobile to hit a hut and it wont be the last.
  20. He also missed a week long party with Charlie Sheen, porn stars and hookers included.
  21. Ask Ron: He had to build a walkin freezer for all the perch hes catching

  23. Ive built 2 Ravens they are a great float rod for the money, perform very well, and Raven obviously stands behind their products very well great to hear
  24. All the best for a healthy recovery from my family to yours, and im sure shell be tanning on the dock this summer, she is in the best of care, and her positive attitude and family support will see her throught this setback
  25. We are using 4 vehicles in our fleet, canyons and colorados, and ford rangers with v6s and f150 with v6s all vehicles are ruffly the same in fuel economy, which our fleet manager says is not that great, guys with the chev and gmc are complaining constantly about discomfort and lack of room, more than any other vehicle weve ever used in fleet, also they sit very low when any weight is put in the box at all, and we are not carrieing lots of weight, so if you are going to tow with this vehicle i would give that a thought, smaller motors have to work harder, which means your usually on the gas more often, using more fuel. Im getting better fuel economy with my Hemi 8 cyl Grand Cherokee than with my company 6-cyl F150
