  1. Steelie spots are like specky spots and guys get lockjaw when asked that question, check the regs for additional steelhead opportunities and open all year areas which will give you areas to start searching good luck
  2. Good job on the steel, get thay fish back in the water before you kill em with second hand smoke Ill be browsen the rivers instead of the puter this weekend for steel myself
  3. Regs are out and it looks like the Lake Ontario 5 fish slaughter of Steelhead will again take place this year unfortunately. hopefully someday the MNR will get it right, and drop it to the 2 fish limit.
  4. Exaxtly I had my 60 3 cyl Johnson rebuilt and it was 1500 dollars that was 8 years ago, but 500.00 per cylinder would be a starting point, also as Wayne mentioned, motor is open you should do the other 2 as well, providing the motor is worth the 2000 plus 2 rebuild, furthermore make sure you premix yourself, to make sure your getting the proper lubrication
  5. I dont recall Roy enshrined on a 50 dollar bill with his 50 incher
  6. A great add, and a smart business move, they should change the add to nothin throws a Taliban like a St Croix and have a 10/0 mustad coming out of their
  7. Incredible nothing like black and white
  8. Id use it for staking up tomato plants, oh I mis read at 7.6ft it would be better suited for staking up the Marley Barley were Jammin were Jammin I want to jammin with you
  9. Beautiful dog Solo, had the same liver and white female named her Holly as we picked her up at Christmas time like you and the name was fitting for the season.
  10. That was the first thought that came to me as well, the pic is in infisherman have a look havnt heard anything else on this fish where as McNairs fish was all over the news, other fishing boards etc in no time
  11. most rods have a piece of rubber at the bottom section where the tip joins at the ferrule its likely fallen into the blank where the diameter is larger, and it wont wont come back out as the diameter at the tip of the butt section is smaller then the rubber piece, if the rod has not buttcap and just cork you could drill a samll hole in the centre and it should fall out at the bottom then just cover the drilled hole with a new cork ring or plastic wood the same colr as the cork
  12. In this months infisherman a monster muskie was caught in GreenBay Wisconsin by Brett Alexander (alexansersportfishing.com) measuring 57.5 inches and sporting a 33.5 inch girth picture in the magazine this particular fishery carries great lakes strain muskies which grow big and fast in GreenBay
  13. Salmon roe has been working well I would continue to use salmon roe fish looks small for any amount of roe and also not far enough advanced meaning very tight skeins, use your salmon roe and unless you want an eater let the bows go until you run out of salmon roe by that time if you need to bonk a bow it should be farther along in ripeness and be easier to scrape and treat ive used salmon roe right up to and through the opener and it worked as good or better than steelhead roe.
  14. Put a tether strap on those babies as you dont want to watch 40.00 plus HST go over board, and hook a muskie after the fact with the cutters on the lake bottom, I have 2 pairs one on each side of the boat, and a monserous pair of bolt cutters with dull blades to cut the walnuts out of the person who tries to steal them
  15. Nothin prettier than a double stripe male, and its female mate all in the same frame
  16. Check behind the seats you may find a chunk of hash which will make it more interesting if you take Tybos idea of the back 40 blowout
  17. Great minds think alike, its nice to see the guys kick ass who dont have to rely on promoting other peoples products, for self gratification, I remember a scugog tourny where 2 guys in a 14ft tinny got a 20lb sack and used a garbage pail with an aerator system for a livewell and won by over 3 lbs
  18. Very nice fish perserverance always pays off when fishin skis
  19. My brother in law had a old lady hit and write off his old S10, the insurance offered him 1500.00 but like yours the truck was in meticulus shape, he carped and complained and ended up receiving 3500.00 as the insurance could see the condition of the vehicle. do not take their crap and get what its writefully worth, as you wont replace it for what they will offer
  20. the types of rivers you fish should determine the setup you choose ie faster flows vs slower flows, big rivers vs small rivers etc also the type of vehicle you drive will determine if you require a 2 or 3 piece rod for transporting
  21. Congradulations on 2 top end muskies, and thanx for the quick and safe release, contrary to some of the OFC bashers I prefer to look at the positives, there are some excellent muskie fisherman who will not post pics because of the backlash and negativity that will most certainly occur, when a new member joins and is welcomed it always comes up remember to post pics we love pics, and when they do they get bashed, I have noticed that the ones who are the critics and do most of the disturbin never post pics themselves
  22. Better still go a little further east and slime her up with some real fish, that eat 8lb walleyes for snacks
  23. I drive F150s for work and had a similar situation where the pedal went to the floor as I was stopping for a red light, not as fortunate I rear-ended the guy that was stopped at the light, my other options were to hit a city bus or a young women pushing a baby stroller problem was brake sensor malfuntion that could be your situation
  24. Actually the Ganny was initially stocked in 1969 and runs occured from 71 to 73, there was actually a thriving commercial boat fishery there as well, with salmon, steelhead, whitefish and american eels, the chinook runs were very large as well for a couple of years, I think the stocking numbers were 69,000 for 1969 in the Ganny and I believe Cobourg was stocked the same year as well, the building behind the gas pumps was the commercial fish area where people could buy fish off the boats as they returned from the lake.
  25. If there was two of them Id say it came over on Noahs Arc, but since theres only one its likely post Noah days
