  1. Shell 91 octane, advertises as having NO ethanol, and is the only gas that i believe that carries that statement, so if you are worried about phase separation, and fuel additives, that is the fuel you might want to look into, ive ran the last 3 tanks with it, and have noticed a big differece in performance, fuel usage, and my 2-stroke runs definately quiter then it use to, when i used the mid-grade fuels, depending on the price, it can run an extra 2.00 to 3.00 per 30 litres.
  2. Ended up changing both the throttle cable and shifter cable, as they have both had the same amout of use, and if one broke the other is likely not far behind, it wasnt to difficult, and took about 45 minutes to do, making sure both cables were set up correctly, as in shifting from forward to neutral to reverse, and the throttle set correctly as well, a 100.00 bucks for 2 cables and a bit of time, and the experience gained.
  3. Hey Chris, if your wearing out your mattress out in a year, yours is seeing alot more action then mine, and on that note id be happy camper
  4. Shock and awe, incredible rivers and incredible scenery and fish, thanks for an amazing documentary on a trip of a lifetime
  5. Nice looking silver tanks there Mike, you better have the shoulder cream ready, cause a few more days of fish like like, and youll need it.
  6. Books tell you to fish slow, the only thing is Muskies cant read?, if you are not having success with what your doing its time to speed up Musky Mike is pretty accurate on the 3 to 3.5mph, which is where i usually troll this time of the year, but will speed up or slow down if that speed does not produce.
  7. Just found the diagnosis on this, and it was a broken throttle cable, and when it broke, it broke so the cable was holding the linkages in a position that was an extremely fast almost wide ope throttle. thanx for everyones help on this one
  8. When there in the rivers, its hard to beat the small silver Lure Jensen Fire Plug, bought 20 of them at the old Outdoor Store when they closed for 1.49 ea
  9. Thanx guys will further check the linkages,
  10. When it starts, it is immediately running full throttle
  11. I have several, but right now my favorite is an Amunsden Wind Warrier Fly Reel, on a Greys 9ft 10wt 4pc Salt Water Fly Rod, spooled with RIO Pike and Muskie taper WF10 F fly line, and also a RIO Full and intermediate sinking line as well, my favorite right now as im still trying to catch a muskie on it, instead of the multitude of follows that show behind the 10 inch flies.
  12. I have a 1993 3 cyl Johnson outboard 60hp, The VRO is unhooked and im pre-mixing 50:1 Amsoil HP oil. Today i put some fuel stabilizer in a full tank of gas, and when i start the motor, it starts but is wide open, this went on for awhile then it settled down but ran rough, with the motor shaking etc, smoked like hell from the stabilizer, went home and drain all the gas out of her, built in tank by the way. And put some fresh gas in minus the stabilizer, did the same thing, started wide open, maybe it just has to burn the old fuel out of the carbs before it runs normal? or could there be another issue, Did a compression test, and all cylinders were as follows top 130 middle 130, bottom 125 Thanx for any help as always folks

  19. Should be OK, but will be a b..tch to tie, as in sticky gooey fingers, likely wont treat after been frozen and thawed, but should work very well, for a week or two, you will know when its gone off. LOL
  20. If its the 15.6 Okuma Aventa, your more of a man then me, that stick was so heavy i unloaded it the first chance i could, ironically to a guy with a shoulder injury, which he was warned, but bought it anyway, and he named it the percoset stick, cause he couldnt go fishing with that rod, without mommas little helper
  21. Each lake is different, and will turn over at different times, usually starts around 57 degrees, and is complete by the low 50s, ie shallower lakes could have already turned, but deeper lakes like stoney might not have started. Rivers are always a safe bet, as i always seem to hit the dead period.
  22. Great story Will, and thanx for saving one of natures beautiful creatures, keep us updated on the birds progress, love stories like that
  23. I dont much like the crowds either, so i will generally move to lesser crowded areas, but when my thyroid gland is hyper-active like its been, im like the tazmanian devil, and have no problems getting into a scrap, and actually enjoy it, and im knockin on 50, and no Whisky is required, but that certainly adds to the excitement, and enjoyment.
  24. See Lew and Diane, you moved to the honest part of the country, with that in mind Stacy does have a few more 11 inch fruity Sledges with your name on it, after you buy your better half a new purse of course.
  25. Yes theres no 50s in the Kawartha's, they have been genetically altered to stop growing at 49 1/2, so you should try the big water and its tributaries that flow into it, and stay off the Kawartha's
